By all accounts, the kids were in bed fast asleep fairly early after a huge day of travel and activities. They are expected to arrive back at school by 5.30pm on Friday evening but please check our school Facebook page for updates on their ETA. At this time of year there are often coughs and colds about. I have included the ‘Too Sick For School’ chart from NSW Health with this newsletter to help you in making decisions about whether or not your child is too sick to attend school. I have also included information about head lice with this newsletter. Head lice are an inevitable part of school life and although annoying and uncomfortable, are not at all dangerous. Whenever a case of head lice is reported to the school, a letter is sent home to all children in the class to let families know to check and treat their children. Please remember to report cases of head lice to the office or your child’s class teacher so that we are able to notify families when this happens. Narooma High School is participating in a research project being conducted in relation to communication and engagement. This project will benefit the high school, and our whole learning community by providing valuable feedback on the ways the high school communicates and engages with students, parents and the broader community. As part of this project, a focus group will be held at our school this coming Wednesday afternoon at 4.30pm in the staffroom. This focus group will run for approximately 45mins - 1 hour and will be conducted by Taryn Woods, a Senior School Communication and Engagement Officer from the Department of Education. This focus group is for all families, even if you don’t yet have children at Narooma High School. Supervision will be provided for those children who need to attend with their parents. If you are able to participate, please call the office to let us know for catering purposes.
