LEARNING OBJECTIVESUpon completion of the course, participants will be able to accomplish the following: • Recognize the economic impact of air cargo globally • Recognize supply chain trends affecting the safety of the supply chain • Identify various elements involved in the supply chain which would pose safety hazards • Recognize the role of multiple stakeholders in ensuring a safe supply chain • Explain ICAO’s role and method of facilitating a safe supply chain • Apply mitigation methods for identified risks

Participants will have a better understanding of the following ICAO Annexes referred to during the course: Annex 6 (Part I), Annex 8, Annex 9, Annex 17, Annex 18, and Annex 19.

TARGET POPULATIONAll stakeholders in the air cargo supply chain including regulators, carriers, ground handling agents, logistics service providers, online retailers and shippers. Levels – safety inspectors, safety and risk managers and senior supervisors and DG specialists.

The Safe Supply Chain course is a joint partnership training package developed between The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). To develop and deliver this course, ICAO has worked actively with TIACA’s strategic learning and development partner – Strategic Aviation Solutions International (SASI).

This course provides the entities in the air and mail cargo supply chain with the necessary knowledge and skills to work together effectively to ensure that cargo is handled appropriately in a safe & efficient manner within the ICAO’s regulatory framework. The course also explores the market and supply chain trends and how they can affect aviation safety.
