POWER SOURCEAC CONNECTIONInsert the small end of the AC adapter into the DC IN 12V jack (located on the back of the unit). Connect the AC cord to the adapter and connect the other end to a wall outlet having 120V AC, 60 Hz. AC Adapter, DC 12V
ZNOTES: • The AC adapter supplied with the unit is polarized to help minimize the
possibility of electric shock. If the AC plug does not fit into a nonpolarized AC outlet, do not file or cut the wide blade. It is the user’s responsibility to have an electrician replace the obsolete outlet.
• Remove both the DC plug and the AC-IN plug to disconnect the AC adapter when not in use.
• Only use the supplied AC Adapter which has the following specs: DC 12V Z

REMOTE BATTERY INSTALLATION1. Remove the Battery Compartment by pressing in on the tab and then
sliding the compartment out.2. Install a CR2032 battery by popping it in through the back of
the compartment, paying attention to the polarity diagram in the compartment (positive side up).
3. Replace the Battery Compartment.

BATTERY PRECAUTIONSFollow these precautions when using batteries in this device:1. Warning–Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only
with the same or equivalent type.2. Use only the size and type of batteries specified.3. Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries as indicated
in the Battery Compartment. A reversed battery may cause damage to the device.
4. If the device is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.
5. Do not try to recharge a battery not intended to be recharged; it can overheat and rupture. (Follow battery manufacturer’s directions.)
OPTIONAL CONNECTIONAUX IN JACK (REAR OF UNIT)Insert one end of the audio cable (not included) into the LINE OUT jack on your external audio unit and the other end into the AUX IN jack on the rear of this unit. To listen to the external audio unit, turn this unit on using the Power button, and turn on the external unit as well. Press the AUX IN button on the main unit, or AUX button on the remote, to select AUX IN mode; “AUX IN” will appear in the display. The external audio unit’s output sound will be heard through this unit’s speakers. If you wish to listen to the iPod in the iPod compartment, press the iPod button to select iPod mode.
NOTES:• If this unit is turned on and in FM/CD/iPod mode, once the external
unit is connected, this unit will change to AUX IN mode automatically. Then, if you disconnect the external unit from the LINE IN jack, this unit will revert back to FM/CD/iPod mode.

1ADJUSTING THE VOLUME AND EQ (Equalizer)
With the desired EQ setting on the display, adjust as desired using the Tune/Skip/Search Down o 1 or Up n 2 button.

• After you have adjusted the volume setting, if you turn the unit off and then on again, the volume level will be set to the level you selected prior to turning the unit off.
• To turn this unit off, press the Power button.
To adjust the EQ (Equalizer):Press the EQ button repeatedly to select an EQ option (BASS, MIDDLE or TREBLE).

Insert the Universal Dock included with your iPod (A) into the iPod compartment (B) (as shown), making sure the tabs are facing front, and slip the tabs into place. Press the rear side of the Universal Dock until it is positioned inside the iPod compartment. NOTE: If using the iPhone, locate the correct Universal dock to use as shown on page 21.

The iPod will charge as long as this unit is connected with the AC adapter.Please see the next page for instructions on using an iPod with this unit.

Slide the iPod (A) into the Universal Dock (B) (as shown). Gent ly push down so the connector on the iPod slides onto the connector on this unit.

NOTES: • When the iPod is connected
to this unit, it will be in the Pause mode. When the iPod is removed, the unit will remain in iPod mode.
• To remove the Dock, insert your finger (or other object) into the gap in the Dock, then gently pull the Dock out to remove it.
• CHARGING: When the iPod is inserted into the dock, whether this unit is on or off, the iPod’s battery will charge until it is full.
• While there is an incoming call for the iPhone, the music will pause. After finishing the call, the music will resume playing.

If this unit is not already on, turn this unit on by pressing the Power button 1. With an iPod connected (see previous page), press the iPod button 2 to select iPod mode; “iPod” will appear in the display and the iPod will be in Pause mode.

You can operate the iPod using its own controls, as per its owner’s manual, or you can use the controls on this unit to operate the iPod.

To play/pause the iPod:Press the Play/Pause (®p) button to start playback on your iPod. Press again to pause playback, and press yet again to resume playback.

The Menu button 1 operates just like the MENU button on the iPod. Press the Menu Up 2 or Down 3 buttons to move the menu option up or down and the OK button 4 to select on the iPod’s display.NOTE: The iPod menu functions can only be accessed with the remote.

Turn this unit on by pressing the Power button 1. Press the Radio button 2 to select the Radio mode; “RADIO” will appear in the display.

Repeatedly press the Tune/ Skip/Search Down o 1 or Up n 2 button to manually advance the frequency in the display up or down until the desired frequency appears. For auto tuning, press and hold the Tune/Skip/Search Down o 1 or Up n 2 button until the frequency in the display starts to scan and then release; the tuner will search and then stop on the next strong station it finds. Repeat this step until the desired frequency appears in the display.

AntennaConnect the FM wire to the FM antenna jack, unravel and extend the FM wire antenna for best reception.

1SETTING THE FIVE RADIO PRESETS
Simply press the desired FM Preset number (1-5) and the station will automatically be tuned.

NOTES: • The preset memories will be
erased if the unit is without power (no AC cord/unit is not connected/power failure) for a long period of time.
• If you are in another mode (i.e. CD) and an FM Preset is pressed, the unit will change to FM Radio and tune the preset.

Press the CD button to select the CD mode; the CD indicator will light and “NO DISC” will appear in the display. Gently insert a CD into the CD Compartment with the label side facing up. “TOC READING” will then appear in the display and the CD will automatically start playing.NOTE: 3 inch singles cannot be used with this unit without an adapter.

NOTE: To cancel the Sleep Timer, press and hold the SLEEP button until “SLEEP ON” or “SLEEP OFF” appears in the display. You can toggle between ON and OFF by pressing the Tune/Skip/Search Down o or Up n button. After “SLEEP OFF” appears, then press the SLEEP button again to cancel the Sleep Timer. The Sleep function is also off when the timer is set to “0:00”.
Press the SLEEP button again and the sleep time will be set.

To view the sleep time, press the SLEEP button; the sleep time will appear for about ten seconds.

CARE AND MAINTENANCECaring for Compact Discs• Treat the compact disc carefully. Handle
the compact disc only by its edges. Never allow your fingers to come in contact with the shiny, unprinted side of the compact disc.
• Do not attach adhesive tape, stickers, etc. to the compact disc label.• Clean the compact disc periodically with a soft, lint-free, dry cloth.
Never use detergents or abrasive cleaners to clean the compact disc. If necessary, use a CD cleaning kit.
• If a compact disc skips or gets stuck on a section of the compact disc, it is probably dirty or damaged (scratched).
• When cleaning the compact disc, wipe in straight lines from the center of the compact disc to the outer edge of the compact disc. Never wipe in circular motions.
• This unit is designed to play only compact discs bearing the identification logo as shown here. Other compact discs may not conform to the CD standard and may not play properly.
• Compact discs should be stored in their cases after each use to avoid damage.
• Do not expose compact discs to direct sunlight, high humidity, high temperatures, or dust, etc. Prolonged exposure or extreme temperatures can warp the compact disc.
• Do not stick or write anything on either side of the compact disc. Sharp writing instruments, or the ink, may damage the surface.
