Working methodology for Sahara Petrochemical preservation job.

1. Unboxed the carrier stator blade and blew away all of dust, debris and all other loose surface

contamination with the aid of compressed air.

2. Inspected the carrier stator blade surface to locate the corroded portion and took pictures of

the areas that were corroded.

3. It was then placed in the container which was filled with VpCI-422 to 20% of tank volume.

4. Sprayed VpCI-422 with the help of compressed air including all the inaccessible areas of stator

blade.

5. For the exposed portion we applied VpCI-423 gel and left it for about 2-3 hours.

6. After this time Power washed it with VpCI-418L 20% mixed with water to neutralize.

7. Reapplied 422/423 until wherever the corrosion was not removed to ensure the complete

removal of corrosion from the outer & inner surface.

8. After corrosion removal took pictures again.

9. Then left it for air dry.

10. After complete drying we applied VpCI-368 temporary coating with the help of spray gun to all

the inner and outer surface ensuring that all the area is covered, with a proportion of 3 parts of

VpCI 368 to 1 part of mineral spirit.

11. Left the stator blade for indoor drying for about 24hrs.

12. After complete drying of the coating applied, wrapped it in Milcorr-VpCI shrink film and heat

shrink it to tight fit.

13. Lastly, placed this wrapped stator blade in a closed wooden box.

Note: This methodology was applied for all the carrier stator blades & Bearings available as

shown in the table below.
