Corner Clamp

Dowel Drilling Jig

Drill Vise

Medium C Clamp

Clamp useful for holding down medium sizedworkpieces and other assembly operationswhere higher clamping torque is ideal.

Quick Clamp

A clamp with an easily adjustable tighten-ing mechanism useful for light clampingand work-holding purposes. Quick clampsare easy to use but do not supply as muchclamping pressure as Pipe, F or C styleclamps and thus are unsuitable for manygluing applications.

Pipe Clamp

A heavy duty clamp with a rigid spineexcellent for clamping situations wheremaintaining material flatness is important.

Pocket Hole Jig

An assembly jig designed specifically forpiloting and driving screws into two work-pieces oriented at 90. Pocket Hole jointsmake for a fast, yet strong alternative tolaborious hand jointery.

Spring Clamp

Used for temporarily holding two objectstogether. Ideal for light duty applicationswhere the distribution of clamping pressureis not of major concern.

Strap Clamp

(aka Band Clamp) A clamp ideally suited forclamping or holding oddly shaped work-pieces on which other kinds of flat clampsare unusable. The Strap Clamp acts like avery tight belt.

Hack Saw

A saw with replaceable blades suited forcutting metal and other non-wood materials.

Combination Saw

A Western-style handsaw (cuts on thepushstroke) equally suited for making rip andcrosscuts. Does not produce a finished edge.

Coping Saw

A saw with a narrow flexible blade useful forcutting curves and detailed shapes by hand.A hand powered scroll saw.

Back Saw

A Western-style saw (cuts on the push-stroke) specifically for making short rip cuts,particularly those common in furniture jointslike the dovetail and the mortise and tenon.

Pull Saw

An Asian-style saw (cuts on the pull stroke)which incorporates both a ripping blade andcrosscutting blade in one saw. Because thesaw has no spine, it is well suited for cuttingthick material and performs well on bothwood and foams.

Pneumatic Hand Saw

Powered off of the pneumatic air system,the Pneumatic Saw is an open-ended sawuseful for making free form rough cuts infoam and other very soft materials.

Hole Saw Set

A hybrid offspring of the drill bit and the sawblade. Hole saws are excellent for drillinground holes in thick materials where otherdrill bits might struggle.

Biscuit Jointer

An exceptionally useful tool when it comesto joining wood parts together without theuse of screws or other metal fasteners. Thebiscuit jointer cuts matching slots in theadjacent faces of the material to be joined.A pre-cut biscuit of wood is then insertedduring glue-up. Biscuit joints are quick,accurate, very strong, and are of great helpwhen it comes to laminating multiple partswhile maintaining their planarity.

Jig Saw

A hand held power tool fitted with a linearcutting blade, the jigsaw is ideal for makingcurved cuts in flat wood or wood compositematerial. The Jig Saw can be thought of as aportable band saw.

Cordless Circular Saw

A cordless version of the Corded CircularSaw. The Cordless Circular Saw is lighterand less powerful and is thus meant formaterial no thicker than 1 inch.

Corded Circular Saw

The circular saw is a portable power tooland is well suited to make straight cuts inwood and wood composite materials. Thoughthe circular saw is an extremely versatiletool, it is also very prone to kickback if usedincorrectly. Great caution should be exercisedwhen learning and using this tool.

Plunge Router

A rotary power tool which can be fitted witha wide variety of router bits for profiling theedges of material or for cutting grooves ofvarious geometry within the face. Used mostlyon wood and wood composite material.

Trim Router

Similar to the plunge router only smaller.The trim router is ideal for routing smallerareas on which a plunge router is too largeto be effective.

Pneumatic Nipper

(aka Pneumatic Nibbler) Powered off thePneumatic air system, the pneumatic nibblermakes fast and clean cuts in thin gaugemetals like metal flashing.

Metal Shears

The metal shears are like scissors for thingauge metal.

Scissors

A versatile shearing tool suitable forpapers and lightweight cardboards.

Utility Knife

A tool with a retractable, replaceablerazor-like blade, the utility knife is superb forcutting all sorts of material. From paper tocardboard to fabric, the utility knife canproduce very controlled and workable cuts.This tool is best used with a straight edge orother cut controller to minimize hazards of anexposed and extremely sharp blade.

Tin Nips

(aka Tin Snips) Another scissor-like toolfor cutting thin gauge metal. Tin Snipshave slightly less leverage than shears, butproduce something of a more controlled andclean cut.

Claw Hammer

To the hammer, all the world is a nail.

Rubber Mallet

A hammer-like instrument with a forgivinghard rubber head for making last minuteadjustments during glue-up and otheroperations which need striking force, butwhere a steel headed hammer woulddamage the workpiece.

Grommet Tool Set

Used to set grommets in fabric which in turnstrengthen holes in fabric and help resisttearing. Common in sails and other placeswhere fabric might be critically tied in position.Grommet Set includes an anvil, a punch,and the male and female components of thegrommet.

Needle Nose Pliers

Pliers with a long tapered nose for grabbingand holding small objects. Needle nose pliersalso include an integrated set of wire cuttersnear the handle.

Slip Jaw Pliers

Similar to flat jaw pliers but with increasedjaw capacity, Slip Jaw pliers also incorporatea channel locking system which allows theuser to grip large objects while still applyingparallel jaw pressure.

Locking Pliers

Identical in function to the Needle NoseLocking Pliers but with a wider and firmergrasping head.

A medium coarse metal toothed abradingdevice. Finer than a rasp, but more aggressivethan sandpaper. Do not use on plaster.

Detail Rasp Set
