ANNEXURE·I SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME OF

SAINIK SCHOOL CHHINGCHRIP, MlZORAM

1. BACKGROUND

Government of Mi.zorarn is to establish Sainik School Chhingchhip, a quality Public School within the reach of the common man, to prepare all round development of a child's personality and to remove regional imbalance in the entry of officer's cadre of the Armed Forces into the National Defence Academy.

2, OBJECTIVES.

The Scholarship would be awarded to all eligible boys of Mizoram domicile who qualify in the Annual Entrance examination conducted by the All lndia Sainik School Society and ore admitted to Sainik School Chhingchhip, Mizoram depending upon the income of parent/guardian.

3. SCOPE

Scholarship under the Sc.heme will be available for studies in Sainik School Chhingchhip, Mizoram only and will be awarded by the Government of Mi.wrain.

4. ADMINISTRATIVE AU'nlORITY

The scheme will be implemented and administered by the Mizoram Scholarship Board in accordance with the Regulations in force.

5. CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY

(i) The student should belong to Mizoram State only.

(ii) Not more than one child of the same parents'/guardians will be eligible for the said scheme.

(iii) The income of parent/guardian should not exceed Rs. l,00,000/­ (0ne lakh) per month for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe and Rs. 50,000/ · (Fifty Thousand) for General Category.

(iv) Student should not be covered under any other Scholarship scheme.

(v) Income certificatesjsalary certificates will be submitted at the time of admission for grant of scholarship.

(vi) Scholarship for studying in any class will be available for only one year and renewable as per Rules/Condition. If 11. student has to repeat a class, he would not get scholarship for that class for the second (and subsequent) year.

(vii) If after the award of scholarship the cadet is found medically unfit in any way which according to the appropriate medical authority, renders him unfit for his entry into the NDA, the scholarship awarded shall be discontinued from the date the cadet is declared unfit.

7, MODE OF PAYMENT

a) As early as possible, after finalization of the selected lists, the concerned Institution shall forward list of cadets to the Nodal Department (Mizoram Scholarship Board). The awarding authority shall disburse the State's share of scholarship to the Institution reimbursing all the approved compulsory fees payable to the Institution.

b) In case of renewal, the Scholarship will be paid following the month up to which the same was paid in the previous year.

c) All cadets are expected to purchase the necessary textbooks, stationery, etc. from the scholarship amounts sanctioned. If it is reported by the Principal that any scholar is without text books, stationery, etc., the value of the scholarship may be reduced at the discretion of the sanctioning authority.

8. CONDITIONS FOR CORTINUATION AND DISCONTINUATION OF THE SCHOLARSHIP

a) The award once made will be tenable from the stage at which it is given to the completion of course subject to satisfactory progress, good conduct and regularity in attendance.

bl A student is liable to refund the scholarship amount at the discretion of the State Government, if during the course of the year, the studies for which the scholarship has been awarded, is discontinued by him.

c) The award will be discontinued if a student fails to secure annual promotion except in case of unavoidable reasons to be certified by the competent authority of the scheme

d) Scholarship will be discontinued if it is reported by the Head of the Institution/School at any time that a student has by reasons of his own act of default failed to make satisfactory progress or has been guilty of misconduct such as resorting to or participating in strikes, irregularity in attendance withoul the permission of the authorities concerned etc., the authority sanctioning the scholarship may either cancel the scholarships or stop or withhold further payment for such period as it may think fit.

e) If a student is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statements, his scholarship will be cancelled forthwith and the amount of the scholarship paid will be recovered, at the discretion of the concerned Department. The student concerned will be blacklisted and debarred for scholarship in any scheme forever.

9. CHANGES IN THE SCHEME

These regulations governing the scheme may be changed or reviewed by the Government ofMizoram at any time as andwhen considered necessary.
