Catholics are renewing Mary’s Rosary devotion as the Church commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Fatima apparitions.
The Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, appeared six times to three shepherd children
near the town of Fatima, Portugal between May 13 and October 13, 1917. Coming at a time when civilization was torn asunder by war and bloody violence, She promised that Heaven would grant peace to all the world if Her requests were heard and obeyed. Say the Rosary every day, to bring peace to the world and an end to the war.
All are welcome to join us as we pray the Rosary the 13th of every month (June through October) at 6pm at Our Lady’s outdoor shrine.

If you want a better understanding of our faith, and a deeper relationship with God, then you should join us for The Bible Timeline Study, beginning in September. By being a part of this study, you will not only benefit personally, but you will also help to bring about a profound renewal in our parish as we all grow closer to Christ.
The study will include a series of twenty-four videos presented by Jeff Cavins. Each video will be preceded by a lively group discussion. "If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” (Jn 14: 15) We can’t help but openly boast about someone we love, can we? Our children, our parents and relatives, our friends! We boast about our love of Jesus by doing as he commanded, which is to keep God first in our lives and to care for the least among us. St. Peter said in his first letter, “Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope.” 1Peter3:15b St. Peter is telling us to be evangelizers. We express our hope in our risen Lord in many ways, but most notably when we without hesitation help those who are feeling hopeless and when we use our God-given gifts to build our Church.

Casino trips are Family Support Center's only fundraisers. These funds, and donations from the community, are our only source of income. FSC distributes food to those in need every Monday and Wednesday. We also help with financial aid, on a limited basis, for those who need emergency assistance. We need your help to continue in this ministry: Last year we distributed food to over 16,000 individuals! Please, if you are able, consider joining us on a trip. You will have a good time and, at the same time, be performing a Corporal work of Mercy. We appreciate your consideration!

Tuesday, June 20 – PALA Casino – 9:15 Boarding: Join us for a fun day! Cost is $15.00. $5.00 back at the Casino. Boarding time is 8:15am. Coffee and Donuts served prior to departure. Return approximately 6:00 pm. Seats are reserved only with payment! Reservations should be made at least 10 days prior to the Casino date to guarantee seating. We must advise Casino a week prior to trip as to the number of participants. If not sufficient, we must cancel. So, early reservations are appreciated.

FSC is a satellite office of the Santa Ana Life Center. FSC provides information, and referrals for assistance. Life Center is always in need of regular size towels and face cloths and diapers, . Used maternity clothes, baby clothes, and other baby items are also needed. Please consider donating any extras you may have. We are not able to accept food donations. All donations are Tax Deductible. FSC delivers all donations to the Life Center.

Dear Fr. Michael St. Paul and Parish of St. Polycarp,
I want to thank you for your generous donations to Life Center. Your kindness allows us to continue our service to women facing difficult choices during and after their pregnancies. The Center provides a confidential and loving environment in which to discuss the challenges they will face in carrying their child to term. Through a network of medical and community referrals, needed care is made available while the Life Center continues to provide on-going support and follow-up care.
Life Center also provides needed material support in the form of clothing, blankets and supplies to both pregnant and new mothers referred by Orange County Social Services, hospitals, Churches, school districts and numerous Family Support Programs. The Life Center has also developed a crib assistance program for high-risk newborns discharged from UCI Medical Center and Orange County hospitals. These infants have no bed in which to sleep after discharge, placing them at risk. Many such fragile infants have monitoring equipment which mandates a bed of their own – hence, our efforts to provide safe, new cribs.
Life Center Services are based on a Respect for Life as sacred and given by God. This philosophy guides all our volunteers and all of our programs. Thank you for being an integral part of our efforts.

Vietnamese Community Update News: A Pho (Vietnamese specialized beef noodles soup bowl) weekend special is scheduled for the weekend of, Saturday, June 3, from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 4, 2017, from 11 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. in our parish hall. This is our fundraising event sponsored by the Vietnamese Community. Each delicious Beef Noodle soup bowl is on sale for $7.00. We also continue to sell our crispy egg rolls for $2.00/3 rolls during the two- day weekend. All soft drinks/water is $1.00 each. You can eat in or take it home. Drop by the parish hall during these hours and support our parish. You also can lend a hand to help our community. Just ask for Tom, Dylan or Phuong, the coordinators, and we will be glad to show you what to do to help the event as there are many tasks that need preparation. Thank you to all the volunteers and the community group members for your important role in making this event possible. We will return in November 2017.

Quiero darle las gracias por sus generosas donaciones al Centro de Vida. Su amabilidad nos permite continuar nuestro servicio a las mujeres que enfrentan decisiones difíciles durante y después de sus embarazos. El Centro provee un ambiente confidencial y amoroso en el cual se discuten los desafíos que enfrentarán al llevar a su hijo a término. A través de una red de referencias médicas y comunitarias, la atención necesaria se pone a su disposición mientras el Centro de Vida continúa proporcionando apoyo continuo y cuidado de seguimiento.
El Centro de Vida también proporciona el apoyo material necesario en forma de ropa, mantas y suministros para madres embarazadas y nuevas remitidas por los Servicios Sociales del Condado de Orange, hospitales, Iglesias, distritos escolares y numerosos Programas de Apoyo Familiar. El Centro de Vida también ha desarrollado un programa de asistencia de cunas para recién nacidos de alto riesgo dados de alta del Centro Médico UCI y de los hospitales del Condado de Orange. Estos bebés no tienen cama en donde puedan dormir después de haber sido dados de alta, poniéndolos en riesgo. Muchos de estos niños frágiles tienen un equipo de monitoreo que exige una cama propia - de ahí, nuestros esfuerzos para proporcionar cunas seguras y nuevas.
Los Servicios del Centro de Vida se basan en un Respeto por la Vida como algo sagrado y dado por Dios. Esta filosofía guía a todos nuestros voluntarios y todos nuestros programas. Gracias por ser parte integral de nuestros esfuerzos.

Muchas personas han dicho que lo que les atrajo a la Iglesia Católica era la Eucaristía. Al reflexionar sobre el reconocimiento de Jesús en la fracción del pan, piense por un momento si hay alguien que podría invitar a Misa y explorar qué más la fe Católica podría tener para ellos. No podemos contener nuestro amor cuando nos referimoso hablamos acerca de alguien a quien amamos, nuestros hijos, padres , pariente y amigos! Nos llenamos de gozo por el amor que le tenemos a Jesús cumpliendo sus mandamientos, los cuales nos piden el tener a Dios en primer lugar en nuestras vidas y ocuparnos de los desvalidos. San Pedro nos dice en su primera carta. “ Esten siempre listos a dar testimonio de su fe.” 1ra de Pedro 3:15 b. San Pedro nos pide que seamos evangelizadores. Expresamos nuestra esperanza en nuestro Señor resucitado de muchas formas, pero es mas notorio cuando no dudamos en ayudar a aquellos que no tienen esperanza, o cuando usamos los dones que Dios nos ha dado para construír la Iglesia.

Giáo xứ Thánh Polycarp may mắn có nhiều nền văn hóa và sự sống động của các chương trình mục vụ khác nhau của các cộng đồng giáo dân, điều này đem đến một làn gió thánh thiện chào đón mọi người, đặc biệt là giới trẻ, là những người mong muốn có một đời sống đạo sâu xa hơn với Chúa Giêsu Kitô. Như là những môn đệ của Chúa, chúng ta giúp cho những người nghèo đói, đây là cuộc hành trình đức tin dành cho các anh chị em chúng ta trên con đường sống đạo mới với niềm hy vọng và lòng can đảm, trong một công việc bác ái an toàn và vui vẻ.

Xin các Hội đoàn – Đoàn thể cố gắng cổ động đoàn thể mình bán hết số vé đã được phân phối và đúc kết cho Ban Thường Vụ, hạn chót là ngày 28 tháng 5 năm 2017. Đặc biệt Ban Thường Vụ xin gởi lời cảm ơn đến anh Mai Chính đã luôn sẵn sàng cộng tác chuẩn bị những tô phở bò đầy hương vị đem đến cho mọi người. Món phở bò của Cộng đoàn St. Polycarp chắc chắn sẽ làm hài lòng quý vị và gia đình quí vị trong hai ngày cuối tuần. Kính mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa cùng tới ủng hộ gian hàng Phở của Cộng đoàn. Ban Thường Vụ cũng xin nhắc lại, nếu gia đình nào ở nhà có chanh, rau thơm hay ớt muốn giúp cộng đoàn để giảm chi phí cho Cộmg đoàn, xin đem đến khu nhà bếp hội trường vào buổi sáng Thứ Bảy ngày 3 tháng Sáu năm 2017. Cũng xin các thiện nguyện viên và các hội đoàn đã được phân công xin có mặt tại hội trường lúc 8g sáng để cùng ban Nhà Bếp chuẩn bị các công việc cần làm cho việc bán phở theo như lịch trình đã phân công. 9- Chương trình ghi danh Lớp Giáo Lý Dự Tòng, các lớp Giáo Lý Song ngữ và các lớp Việt Ngữ của Cộng đoàn cho niên khoá 2017-2018.- Xin Quí phụ huynh và Cộng đoàn lưu ý: Lớp Giáo Lý Dự Tòng, Các lớp Giáo Lý Song ngữ và các lớp Việt Ngữ của Cộng đoàn cho niên khóa 2017-2018 sẽ được ghi danh vào các ngày giờ như sau: Thời giao từ 10 giờ sáng đến 3giờ chiều Thứ Bảy các ngày 10, 17 và 24 tháng 6 năm 2017 tại phòng 14 và khu nhà ăn của trường học (Pavillion). Xin Quí Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa đến ghi danh cho lớp Giáo Lý Dự Tòng, quí phụ huynh nhớ theo dõi và đem con em đến ghi danh cho các lớp Giáo Lý Song Ngữ và các lớp Việt Ngữ càng sớm càng tốt để giữ chỗ cho các em. 10- Giáo xứ phát động chương trình Quĩ Mục Vụ Giáo Phận năm 2017.- Giáo xứ đã phát động chương trình đóng góp cho Quĩ Mục Vụ của Giáo Phận (PSA) năm 2017. Chương trình kêu gọi mọi Giáo dân trong Giáo phận đóng góp tài chánh cho Giáo phận để có nguồn tài chánh sinh hoạt cho Giáo phận đồng thời cũng đóng góp tài chánh cho các sinh hoạt của Giáo hội trung ương tại Rôma. Đây là nghĩa vụ và bổn phận của mọi Kitô hữu cần thực hiện giúp cho việc truyền giáo tại địa phương cũng như trên thế giới được tiến triển đều hòa. Ngoài ra theo dự trù, trong năm 2017, Giáo xứ phải đóng góp cho Giáo phận hơn 92,000 Dollars US. Ngoài số tiền dự trù phải đóng góp, Giáo phận sẽ hoàn trả lại cho Giáo xứ do đóng phụ trội để Giáo xứ trả nợ cho Giáo phận số tiền mà Giáo xứ mượn để sửa chữa bải đậu xe trong khuôn viên Thánh đường. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa nhiệt liệt hưởng ứng và tích cực tham gia tùy khả năng tài chánh của mỗi người cho chương trình này. Xin theo dõi tiến trình đóng góp của Giáo xứ qua các bảng có đặt tại nhiều nơi xung quanh Thánh đường.
THÔNG BÁO CỘNG ĐOÀN.
1- Giờ chầu Thánh Thể thinh lặng.- Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa lưu ý: Giáo xứ có giờ chầu Thánh Thể thinh lặng từ 3giờ30 đến 5giờ vào mỗi chiều Thứ Bảy hằng tuần. Xin kính mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa cùng đến tham dự giờ chầu Thánh Thể nêu trên. 2- Giờ lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót của Giáo xứ.- Sau Thánh lễ 8giờ30 sáng từ Thứ Hai đến Thứ Bảy trong tuần, Giáo xứ có lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót bằng tiếng Mỹ, và vào lúc 3giờ chiều mỗi ngày, Cộng đoàn có lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót bằng tiếng Việt tại Thánh đường (hoặc tại Đài Đức Mẹ). Kính mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa cùng tham dự. 3- Giáo xứ đón Đức Mẹ Fatima Thánh Du.- Giáo xứ sẽ đón rước Tượng Đức Mẹ Fatima Thánh Du vào ngày Thứ Ba 30 tháng 5 năm 2017, từ 7giờ30 sáng đến 7giờ tối. Vào lúc 7giờ30 sáng, Tượng Đức Mẹ sẽ được cung nghinh vào Thánh đường và được đặt gian Cung Thánh để làm giờ kính đức Mẹ và Thánh lễ vào lúc 8giờ30. Riêng Cộng đoàn Việt nam, vào lúc 3giờ chiều, có giờ lần chuỗi Mân Côi kính Đức Mẹ, cùng với giờ lần chuỗi Lòng ChúaThương Xót. Ngoài ra, xin Cộng đoàn theo dõi chương trình của Giáo xứ để tham dự các chương trình tôn vinh Mẹ trong ngày. 4- Rửa Tội bằng tiếng Việt cho các em nhỏ.- Giáo xứ sẽ Rửa Tội bằng tiếng Việt cho các em nhỏ trong Giáo xứ vào lúc 2giờ30 trưa Chúa Nhật ngày 28 tháng 5 năm 2017 cho những em đã ghi danh. Xin quí cha mẹ và người đỡ đầu có mặt đầy đủ và đúng giờ. 5- Buổi sinh hoạt của Huynh Đoàn Đaminh.- Huynh Đoàn Đaminh Vinh Sơn Liêm của Cộng đoàn sẽ có buổi sinh hoạt vào 2giờ chiều Chúa Nhật ngày 28 tháng 5 năm 2017 tại phòng họp thường lệ. Kính mời các Đoàn viên tham dự đông đủ. 6- Giờ chầu Thánh Thể Thứ Sáu đầu tháng.- Thứ Sáu ngày 2 tháng 6 năm 2017 là ngày Thứ Sáu đầu tháng. Cộng đoàn có mở cửa Nhà Tạm và chầu Thánh Thể lúc 3giờ chiều, cùng với giờ lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót. Sau đó lúc 6giờ chiều có chầu Thánh Thể và đền tạ Thánh Tâm Chúa, 6giờ30 Thánh lễ. Kính mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa sắp xếp thời gian tham dự. 7- Đoàn Liên Minh Thánh Tâm và Hội Các Bà Mẹ Công Giáo sinh hoạt.- Đoàn Liên Minh Thánh Tâm và Hội Các Bà Mẹ Công Giáo của Cộng đoàn sẽ có buổi sinh hoạt hằng tháng vào lúc 2giờ chiều Chúa Nhật ngày 4 tháng 6 năm 2017 tại phòng họp thường lệ. Riêng Hội Các Bà Mẹ Công Giáo có bầu lại Ban Chấp Hành nhiệm kỳ 2017 – 2019. “Nếu anh em yêu mến Thầy, anh em sẽ giữ các điều răn của Thầy.” (Ga 14:15) Chúng ta thường khoe khoang về ai đó mà chúng ta yêu thương, phải không quý vị? Con cái của chúng ta, cha mẹ và người thân, bạn bè của chúng ta! Chúng ta cũng khoe khoang về tình yêu của chúng ta với Chúa Giêsu qua những điều răn của Ngài, đó là việc kính mến Chúa trên hết mọi sự và sau đó là yêu thương người khác. Thánh Phêrô đã nói trong bức thư đầu tiên của ông, “Hãy luôn luôn sẵn sàng trả lời cho bất cứ ai chất vấn về niềm hy vọng của anh em.” (1Pr3:15b). Thánh Phêrô nói chúng ta là người rao giảng tin mừng. Chúng ta bày tỏ niềm hy vọng về Chúa sống lại bằng nhiều cách, như những điều chúng ta không ngần ngại làm sau đây, khi giúp đỡ những anh em đang sống trong tuyệt vọng, và khi chúng ta biết sử dụng những ân tứ của Ngài ban cho để xây dựng Hội Thánh.
