Pastors letter Dear parishioners, September 29th is the feast day of three of the most popular archangels in the history of reli-gion. They are Archangels Michael (my favorite), Gabriel and Raphael. Because the 29th is a Sunday this year, they are bumped for the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time. But it is still their day! I have copied below from Catholic Online a description of the nine choirs of angels. These are pure spirits created by God and, apparently at a single moment in eternity, if there are moments in eternity since eternity just is, not was or will be. Apparently, all the choirs the angels to be created by God were created at that singular event with no more created. The Choirs of Angels don’t get married or reproduce. Human beings, if we go to heaven, don’t become angels even if we die as infants, but become saints since we have bodies that eventual-ly will be reunited with our souls at the end of time. There are the Nine Choirs of Angels: Seraphim: These are the highest order or choir of angels. They are the angels who are attendants or guardians before God's throne. They praise God, calling, "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of Hosts". Cherubim: Cherubim rank after the seraphim and are the second highest in the nine hierarchies or choirs of angels. They are manlike in appearance and double-winged and were guardians of God's glory. They symbolized then, God's power and mobility. Thrones: Thrones are the Angels of pure Humility, Peace and Submission. They reside in the area of the cosmos where material form begins to take shape. The lower Choir of Angels need the Thrones to access God. Dominions: Dominions are Angels of Leadership. They regulate the duties of the angels, making known the commands of God. Virtues: Vir tues are known as the Spir its of Motion and control the elements. They are sometimes referred to as "the shining ones." They govern all nature. They have control over seasons, stars, moon; even the sun is subject to their command. They are also in charge of miracles and provide courage, grace, and valor. Powers: Powers are Warr ior Angels against evil defending the cosmos and humans. They are known as potentates. They fight against evil spirits who attempt to wreak chaos through human beings. Archangels: Archangels are generally taken to mean " chief or leading angel. They may be of this or other hierarchies as St. Michael Archangel, who is a princely Seraph. The Arch-angels have a unique role as God's messenger to the people at critical times in history and sal-vation as in The Annunciation and Apocalypse. A feast day celebrating the Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael is celebrated throughout the Church September 29th. Principalities: In the New Testament Pr incipalities r efers to one type of spir itual (metaphysical) being which are now quite hostile to God and human beings. the powers; and cosmological powers; Dominions and thrones. Given their hostility to God and humans due to sin, Christ's ultimate rule over them expresses the reign of the Lord over all in the cosmos. Angels: These angels are closest to the mater ial wor ld and human begins. They deliver the prayers to God and God's answers and other messages to humans. Angels have the capaci-ty to access any and all other Angels at any time. They are the most caring and social to assist those who ask for help. May Archangels, Michael, Gabriel and Raphael keep us all close to Holy Mother Church and the Communion of Saints. Your angelic pastor,

Want to Grow in Holiness, But Too Busy?

Want to transform your work, your marriage, your family, and your life, but don’t have time? Looking for the quickest, surest, and easiest way to holiness, but don’t know where to begin? In our hectic day and time, Pope John Paul II and Blessed Mother Teresa knew that the quickest way to be transformed into a saint is through a relationship with Our Blessed Mother, Mary. Join us start-ing October 15th, as we begin a 33-day preparation for Marian Consecration. In our weekly meet-ings, Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 PM, we’ll share our insights within our small group and then

watch a 30-minute video. If you’re looking for a simple way to be spiritually renewed, develop a deeper relationship with Our Merciful Savior, and grow in holiness, join us for 33 Days to Morning Glory Small-group Retreat. Pick up a flyer in the Narthex and contact Chris Edscorn prior to October 13th.

ATTENTION ALL LECTORS

There will be a Lector training on Sunday, October 27th from 9:15 to 10:15 beginning in the quieting room off the Narthex in the main church. All new Lectors, please attend or make other arrangements for training. All cur-rent lectors are also welcome to come and hone their skills. Contact Chris Edscorn 603-769-1402 or [email protected] for further information.

Twenty-Sixth Sunday In Ordinary Time

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS HOLY HOUR - Oct. 2, 6:00 PM The Knights of Columbus Council 10866 of St. Anne Church invites all members of the community to attend a Holy Hour of Eucharistic Adoration at the Martha Mary Chapel on October 2nd from 6:00 PM. To 7:00 PM.

Part of Council 10866’s ongoing Holy Hour Program, this event is a simple and meaningful way to delve deeper into one’s spiritual life and engage in a personal encounter with God. All are welcome to participate in this event – regardless of age, vocation, stage of life or membership status. Knights of Columbus members from any council and any Catholic man who has ever considered member-ship in the Knights are especially encouraged to join their brothers in this impactful service. A Holy Hour is a traditional Catholic devotion where time is spent reflecting in front of the Blessed Sacra-ment. Holy Hours can contain many aspects, particularly prayer (both silent and communal) and the singing of hymns and other songs of praise. In keeping with the fraternal nature of the Knights of Columbus, light refreshments will be provided in the Martha Mary Social Hall after the Holy Hour. Please Spread the Word! Council 10866 in Richmond Hill is one of 17,000 Knights of Columbus councils that make up the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Founded in 1882 to assist working-class and immigrant Catholics in the United States, today the approximately two million members of the Knights put their faith into action through a broad range of charitable caus-es locally, nationally and internationally with financial contributions and hands-on service.
