Our congratulations to Mrs. Stacy Gillenwater! We salute you on your retirement. Our sincere thanks and gratitude for pouring your heart and soul into the role of Youth Minister of our parish for the last 15 years. Your upbeat and encouraging attitude has made an impact on so many young lives. Sharing with our kids, both your love for Christ and being Catholic means so much, and will be a positive influence as they grow into adulthood. God bless you!
THANK YOU...

First Communion Our second graders made their First Confession this past March 7th, but I don’t need to tell you what happened to their First Communion. We are now looking ahead to Sunday, August 30th at a special 1:00 pm Mass to hold this pivotal event in their Catholic formation. Rehearsal will be held the day before, on Saturday, August 29th at 10:00 am in the church, as has been our custom. Please visit the St. Anthony Parish web site, and on the menu bar click on the “Sacraments & Liturgy” tab, then scroll down and click on “Holy Eucharist”. There is a dress code link there with a reminder that you can print to prepare for the day. It has not changed from the one you received in the spring except to be updated for social distancing.
RCIA and Adults entering the Church Whitney Sumner was Baptized and Confirmed with family and many friends present on Tuesday, June 9th in the church. Whitney had been attending Mass here with her fiancé and his family before choosing to become Catholic. Welcome Whitney! Dave Smith, had already been baptized when he came forward to begin the RCIA process last fall. He made a state-ment of faith in the Catholic Church, was Confirmed and received his First Holy Communion this past Wednesday, July 1st. Dave had been attending here with his wife Theresa for some time. Congratulations to the two of them. If someone you know is interested in the Catholic Church please invite them to worship with us for a few weekends to get a feel for our parish and the Catholic Church. As our Lord said, “Come and you will see” John 1:39.
Weekend Mass Attendance Since Mass became open to the public again six weeks ago our most highly attended Mass reached 81 souls this past Saturday at 5:00 pm. The Second most highly attended Mass was the Sunday 11:00 am Mass a week prior to that at 76 souls. So our building occupancy has reached a maximum of 16% of the 520 seat total. Plenty of room for those concerned about social distancing.

ADORER MISSIONARY SISTERS OF THE POOR Peace and Love of Christ! Since we are unable to come to the Parish to speak next weekend, due to COVID-19, I would like to share our current mission with you. Our Lady of Fatima Medical Clinic, located in Malowa village, Tanzania, is managed by the Adorer Missionary Sisters of the Poor, a very young but vibrant and deter-mined religious community of sisters, who have totally given themselves to the preaching of the Gospel in both word and action! The clinic is urgently concerned for the lives of nearly 9,000 people in rural Tanzania. Often these families do not have even their basic needs met on a daily basis and it is much harder during this pandemic. We are seeking assis-tance to implement public awareness programs to instruct villagers on new sanitation and protection guidelines, provide materials necessary to keep villagers and our healthcare workers safe, and secure food provisions for the most vulnerable through this difficult time.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the clinic has experienced lots of challenges in trying to serve so many people with very limited resources. Due to the government-ordered mandatory lockdown, many day-laborers are out of work and unable to feed themselves and their families. In these circumstances, the elderly poor and the orphans find themselves in dire need. Your financial support will help the clinic to manage and reduce the spread of the virus by teaching and encouraging safe hygiene practices, purchase necessary medicines, sup-plies, food for the poor, elderly, and orphans, and cover part of the salaries for the ten staff members (the govern-ment does not give any support to the clinic). Please help us so that we may offer continued healthcare at Our Lady of Fatima Clinic. If you are not at Mass this weekend, the Archdiocese has made arrangements with missio.org for us to receive dona-tions directly through them: www.missio.org/fundraiser mcpprofile.aspx?fundraiser_id=505270&localization=EN Your Missionary Sister, Sr. Mary Jennifer Wandia, AMSP, Ph.D. Mission Director
