Dear Parishioners of Saint Augustine Cathedral,
Due to substantial spikes in Covid-19 virus transmission, along
with substantially increased critical hospital census numbers the
Office of the Bishop of the Diocese of Tucson has issued new
changes to our protocols for public worship and church operation.At
Saint Augustine Cathedral, with the appropriate permission of
Bishop Edward J. Weisenburger, we will continue to celebrate Mass
INDOOR and open to the public while maintaining our regular safety
protocols. Our weekend Mass Schedule will remain the same:SATURDAY
VIGIL MASS: 5:30 p.m. – EnglishSUNDAY MASS: 6:30 a.m. – English
8:00 a.m. – Spanish 10:00 a.m. – English 12:00 p.m. – English 5:30
p.m. – SpanishOur livestream Masses will continue to be available
at our Cathedral Facebook Page, Mass in Spanish at 8:00 a.m. and
Mass in English at 10:00 a.m.FUNERALS AND WEDDINGSFunerals and
weddings may be celebrated indoors but are limited to a maximum of
25 persons; baptisms are limited to a maximum of ten persons. No
gatherings before or following these celebrations are allowed on
parish or church property.CATHEDRAL OFFICEDuring these next four
weeks our Cathedral office will remain closed, emails and voicemail
will be checked daily. Our Cathedral Office will resume regular
hours of operation on February 8th, 2021.Those persons identified
in the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines as “high risk”
are strongly encouraged to receive the Church’s ministry mediated
through the internet while remaining at home. This caution is
greatly lessened after such persons have been able to receive a
Covid-19 vaccination.Thank you for your understanding and
cooperation. Pope Francis has encouraged us to build a culture of
care on this new year 2021 while maintaining our eyes intently on
Jesus Christ. Let us care for one another and place our trust

DO YOU WISH TO REGISTER IN THE PARISH?
Often people may attend Mass for several years, but never
register. Registering in a parish is a declaration of your
desire to be part of a Catholic community and to make a
commitment to the life of St. Augustine Cathedral Parish
community. Being a registered parishioner makes the process much
easier when it is time for weddings, infant baptism, school
or religious education registration, when asked to be a
baptismal or confirmation sponsor, and even funerals. A registered
parishioner receives all parish mailings and emails.
Church law advises that territories or boundaries no longer
limit parish registration. St. Augustine Cathedral Parish accepts
anyone who wants to share in the life of the parish regardless of
where they live. However, the Diocese of Tucson advises that you
may only choose one parish as your home parish. You may be active
at as many parishes as you would like, but please choose only one
parish as your home parish which will be your parish of
registration.
In order to register at St. Augustine Cathedral Parish, you need
to complete a registration form. Come fill out a registration form
during office hours or bring it back filled. We welcome you to
register!
