Sacraments of the Church

Infant Baptism The Sacrament is celebrated on Sunday at 1:15 PM. by appointment only. A Pre-Baptism Catechetical Session is required for parents. Godparents (Sponsors) must be practicing Catholics, at least 14 years of age and have received the Sacrament of Confirmation. A practicing non-Catholic Christian may act as a witness along with a Catholic Sponsor. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults We welcome all unbaptized individuals, friends, family members and neighbors who are not Roman Catholic Christians or those individuals within the Catholic Tradition who may have never received the Sacraments of the Holy Eucharist or Confirmation to participate in our parish program for adult Christian Initiation at this time. This program is also ideal for baptized Christians of other Christian denominations who are interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith. If you know of someone who may wish to experience the richness of our Catholic Faith and who desires to participate fully in the sacramental life of the Church. Please contact Barbara Bunag at 732-257-7722. Christian Marriage

The Sacrament of Matrimony requires an extensive period of preparation. Contact must be made with Parish Center one year in advance. Anointing of the Sick

The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and the anointing of the sick is available to our parish sick and shut-ins upon request. Please inform the parish concerning the needs of the sick by calling the Parish Office. If any member of the parish is hospitalized, please notify the Parish Office immediately so that a member of the Pastoral Staff may visit.

FAITH 101

15 October 2020—Part 1 7:00 p.m.

Presented both in-person and virtually "Mary, Untier of Knots'', also known as "Mary, Undoer of Knots”, is the title of both a seventeenth century Marian devotion and painting. Its theology is rooted in the second century work of Saint Irenaeus, who writes that “the knot of Eve’s disobedience was untied by the obedience of Mary.” The novena, which was inspired by the struggles of a young German couple, reveals the effectiveness of prayer addressed to the Blessed Mother, who is both Advocate and Intercessor. Rich in history, it was predominantly known in Germany until sometime in the twentieth century when its popularity grew worldwide. It continues to stir hope, partly due to the influence of Pope Francis who discovered the devotion during his doctoral studies. This presentation will recount the marriage of Wolfgang and Sophie Langenmantel and how through the intercession of the Blessed Mother the knots destroying their marital bond were undone. The novena reminds us that nothing is impossible with God’s mercy!
