Saint Bede academy
Football CampSaint Bede Head Football Coach, Jim Eustice, and his staff (combined 60 years of experience) and players will offer how to block, tackle, run, and pass the Bruin way! This camp promises a great week for aspiring football players to learn the game and reinforce some good skill habits. Campers will have chances to win prizes through competitions and games. Please wear cleats if you have them. This camp will meet at the gym entrance.
Date: Monday, July 17th through Thursday, July 20th

Wrestling Camp Head Coach Sean Hobson announces his Bruin Wrestling Camp. With plenty of help from his coaches along with state champion John Barnes! Plan to wrestle, swim, play football, and wrestle for this camp. Wrestling instruction covers physical and mental preparation, takedowns, escapes, and pinning combinations. Headgear and wrestling shoes are recommended but not required. Snacks will be provided. New wrestlers welcome. Meet at the front doors to the school.

Cheer Camp Saint Bede Academy cheerleading coach, Brandy Cattani and Morgan Knoblauch, along with current Saint Bede cheerleaders and alum will be teaching the skills that have made our cheer group competitive and successful over the past several seasons. Campers will learn short dance routines, basic sideline cheers, motion techniques, jumps and mounts from the coaches and the current Bruin cheerleaders! Participants ages from 3 years old to 8th graders. Meet at the front doors of the school.

Golf CampLearn the fundamentals of golf with Saint Bede golf coach Rich Cummings. You will learn the golf swing, grip, stance and alignment. Some special guest teachers will make appearances throughout the camp. You need golf clubs and we provide the golf balls. Meet at “bus parking area, west of the gym.”

Speed, Agility and Quickness Camp (All athletes included)Coach Mike Skoflanc is back at offering some of the finest run and motion training to aspiring young athletes. Mike has coached 46 state qualifiers and 14 state medalists in cross country and track & field. He is a NESTA (National Exercise Sports Trainer Association) certified Speed, Agility and Quickness coach and also Certified Level One Youth Conditioning Specialist with the IYCA ( International Youth Conditioning Association) and ACT (Action Certified Trainer) as a personal fitness trainer. The Saint Bede Sports Performance Camp is designed to introduce to young athletes the training methods which will enhance their speed, agility and quickness. Tools needed to become not only a better athlete in all sports, but also an injury free athlete. The camp will use low impact jump drills, agility ladder drills, and multi-directional foot work drills. Athletes are guided through a system of progressive exercises and drills designed to enhance the following athletic skills: proper running mechanics, first step reaction, one and two motor learning patterns, coordination and balance, linear and lateral quickness and agility, speed, flexibility and conditioning. This camp will help build a new confidence and self esteem in your young athlete by developing these skills in a positive and competitive atmosphere. The camp will be held in the gym.

Lady Bruins Basketball CampCoach Tom McGunnigal, his coaching staff, and players will offer instruction and demonstration on shooting, passing, dribbling, and defense. The camp will emphasize the fun in playing as a team and the challenge of competition through games making it enjoyable for all groups. Prizes and awards will be given throughout the week. Session One: Students entering 4th – 6th gradesTime: 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Boys Basketball CampLearn the basic fundamentals of basketball - dribbling, passing, rebounding, and defense in a fun and exciting environment! Under the guidance of head basketball coach Mike Kilmartin, his staff and players, the week long camp will consist of station drills, daily skill challenges, and individual instruction. The team game with competitions and scrimmages will also be a part of the instruction. Prizes and awards will be given for different competitions throughout the week

Volleyball CampKarrie Damerell in her third season leading the Lady Bruins volleyball program and is hosting this summer camp for all interested players. Along with current members of the volleyball team, campers will begin to develop sound game skills and advance their current abilities. Through competitive drills and team play players will improve their game in a positive and supportive camp setting. Campers are encouraged to bring their own knee pads, if they have them.

Math and Coding CampImprove and increase your math skills with this fun and exciting camp directed by Saint Bede instructors, Rick Fess and Rachael Bradley. Younger math wizards will explore basic math functions through “scavenger hunts”, become crime solvers, and play Math Bingo. The older session will explore the real world applications for math and do experiments using math formulas. Coding will also be introduced to both sessions of students. Indoor and outdoor activities will be planned, weather permitting. This class will take place in Room 107 (Computer Lab) on the first floor of the Academy building.
