Dear Parents, Guardians, Alumni, Parishioners, and Friends:

May Saint Catherine Labouré intercede for us and bring us the grace and peace of Jesus! Our school year is off to a wonderful start as we “teach minds, form hearts, and grow disciples” here at Saint Catherine Labouré School.

The COVID-19 Pandemic certainly impacted our operations and finances, but we remain committed to our mission. During the statewide shutdown in the Spring, our teachers hit the ground running with online classes to keep our students engaged in learning. This school year we have implemented various health and safety procedures to keep our students safe, healthy, and excited for learning. We are so appreciative of your support always, but especially during these uncertain and challenging times.

Please take a few moments to review our Miraculous Messenger Newsletter and 2019-20 Annual Report. You will see how we educate the whole child—from religion to academics to service to arts and athletics. We are proud of the accomplishments of our wonderful students!

We are so grateful for your support throughout the year and strive to be good stewards of those funds. We have included information on special events, how much was raised, and how those funds impacted our school and students through building improvements, technology advances, and tuition assistance.

SCLS Hasn’t Skipped a Beat! In March 2020 when Pennsylvania schools were shut down due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, SCLS

did not skip a beat. The teachers immediately jumped into action and began online teaching for our

students from Preschool through 8th grade. Words like “Zoom” and “unmute yourself” became famil-

iar terms in our children’s vocabulary. Throughout this uncertain time, these things have remained

certain: the dedication of the teachers and staff to our students and the understanding that God is al-

ways with us, through the good times and difficult times. Mrs. Reagan’s theme for this year is

“Prayer, Patience, and Perseverance.” Together, we will try to embrace this motto as we move for-

ward in uncertain times.

Online Cooking Classes and Virtual Field Trips

Since students could not participate

in “normal” hands-on, in-person

spring field trips, teachers impro-

vised and brought fun, interactive

experiences to the students! They

enjoyed cooking classes with Mrs.

Cantos and virtual field trips to the

aquarium, Gettysburg, zoo, and even

Disney World!

Even in the midst of the COVID-19 shutdown, our students were able to grow academically, spiritually, socially, and

physically: through online learning, virtual rosaries, celebration of graduates, and our virtual Royal Run!

For the 2020-2021 school year we welcomed 24 new

students in Grades 1-8. We are so thrilled to welcome these

students, parents, guardians, and siblings to our SCLS

family! We also welcomed 42 Kindergarteners and 36

Preschoolers! It’s never too early to start thinking about

enrollment for next school year. If you or someone you

know is interested in enrolling at Saint Catherine’s, please

contact the Advancement Office to schedule a tour or ask

“Admissions Request” form via the SCLS homepage:

Improvement

Tax Credit

Program

The EITC Program allows businesses to make a

donation and receive a tax credit towards their state

taxes: 90% if you sign up for 2 years and 75% if you

sign up for 1 year. If you are interested in learning

more about the EITC program and how your

business can make a donation to Saint Catherine

Labouré School and receive state tax credits, please

contact us. Additionally, individuals or joint earning

income households, with an income of $115,000

or more that owe a minimum of $3,500 in PA

state taxes have the opportunity to redirect their

state tax liability as school scholarships to control

how and where their state tax dollars are spent.
