“I am the Bread of Life which came down from heaven.” John 6:41

First Friday Adoration

of the Blessed Sacrament Friday, September 6

following 8:00 a.m. Mass - 10:00 p.m.

Please sign up for an hour or more OR come in and pray when you have a moment. Jesus waits for us in the Blessed Sacrament. He waits for our Acts of faith, adoration, love, thanksgiv-ing, repentance, reparation and charity that we can offer Him as we contemplate His Divine Majesty in the Blessed Sacrament.

AN INVITATION You are invited to join a class dedicated to those interested in becoming sponsors for our new candidates and catechumen. If you are curious about what is involved in becoming a sponsor, would like to have a meaningful ministry and want to share your faith with one who desires to become Cath-olic, please consider attending the class, or just give me a call and we can talk. It is an opportunity to become a trusted friend, and to develop a unique relationship with a catechumen or candidate as you walk with them through the formation process. It is also a time to refresh your own faith as you accompany a new inquirer in this “Year of Faith”. Blessings, Donna Beam, Director of RCIA (949) 494-9701, ext. 113

Children’s Liturgy of the Word will start on Sunday, September 22,

9:00 a.m. Mass

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is the cel-ebration of the scripture readings each Sunday for children from grades 1st through 5th. The children have the oppor-tunity to hear the Sunday readings in a text written especially for children, which allows them to better understand the word of God. It also provides a time for the children to share about what they have heard and how to put this into prac-tice during the week.

Thank you to our catechists: Heidi Kaspers Penny Smith Gina Stewart Blanche Zelko

St. Gregory the Great – September 3 In 574, at the age of thirty-four he was appointed Chief Magistrate of Rome by Emperor Justin the Younger. After the death of his father, he built six monaster-ies in Sicily and founded a seventh in his own house in Rome, which became the Benedictine Monastery of St. Andrew. He assumed the monastic habit in 575, at the age of thirty-five. When chosen Pope by unanimous consent of priests and people is when he began the work he is known for - his contributions to the Liturgy of the Mass and Office. He is one of the four great Doctors of the Latin Church. He died March 12, 604. He is the patron of teachers.

The parish office will be closed Monday, September 2, for the Labor Day Holiday.
