EL REY PASTOR La tarea del pastor y la tarea del rey no pueden ser más diferentes la una de la otra. Los pastores están en el úl mo escalón de la sociedad, mientras los reyes están en el más elevado. Pero Dios dice, por medio del profeta Ezequiel, que el Mesías regirá de manera muy diferente a las autoridades de la erra que oprimen a su pueblo y le causa daño por ser malos gobernantes. Nuestro Rey asume el trabajo por sí mismo. Cristo, como un pastor, dará reposo a sus ovejas, buscará a la extraviada, traerá de vuelta a las perdidas y dispersas. Curará a las heridas y vendará a las lesionadas. Él no delega, sino que las apacentará “con jus cia”. THE SHEPHERD KING The job of shepherd and the job of king couldn’t be more different from each other. Shepherds are on the lowest rung of society, kings are at the top. But God says, through the prophet Ezekiel, that the Messiah will lead in a way very different from earthly authori es who lord it over their people and cause harm with their poor leadership. Our King takes on the job himself. Christ, like a shepherd, will give rest, seek out the lost, bring back the strayed and sca ered ones. He will heal the wounded and bind up the injured. SANTA CECILIA (Siglo II) 22 de noviembre

Santa Cecilia es la patrona de los músicos, pero antes de cantar, su vida toda fue un canto para Dios. Nació en Roma y desde muy joven prome ó entregarse a Dios y permanecer casta. Su padre no pensó así y la obligó a casarse con un no cris ano llamado Valeriano, quien no sólo respetó su volun-tad, sino que también se hizo cris ano. Fue él mismo quien convir ó a su hermano Tiburcio, para lue-go, ser mar rizados ante su nega va de adorar a los dioses de Roma. Al ver la manera heroica en que morían, Máximo, un cortesano se convir ó al cris anismo y también lo mar rizaron. Cecilia dio sepul-tura cris ana a los tres, acción que le valió la reprensión y el juicio frente al Prefecto Almaquio, quien al ver que no desis a de su fe mandó que la quemaran en el baño de su casa, pero el fuego no le hizo nada. Después, mandó que la decapitaran y luego de golpearla en el cuello, agonizó durante tres días hasta que entregó su espíritu. SANTA CECILIA (2nd century) November 22th

Santa Cecilia is the patron saint of musicians, but before singing, her en re life was a song for God. She was born in Rome and from a very young age promised to give herself to God and remain chaste. Her father did not think so and forced her to marry a non-Chris an named Valeriano, who not only respected her will, but also became a Chris an. It was he himself who converted his brother Tiburcio, to later be martyred for his refusal to worship the gods of Rome. Seeing the heroic way in which they died, Máximo, a cour er, converted to Chris anity and was also martyred. Cecilia gave the three a Chris an burial, an ac on that earned her reprimand and judgment in front of the Prefect Almaquio, who, seeing that she did

not give up her faith, ordered that they burn her in the bathroom of her house, but the fire did nothing to her. Later, he ordered her to be beheaded and a er hi ng her on the neck, she was in agony for three days un l she surrendered her spirit. Sacrament of Marriage The Pastoral Guidelines for Marriage Prepara-tion are that a minimum of 7 months be set aside for personal preparation for marriage. Couples should refrain from setting a firm date until after they have called the office to discuss marriage plans. Weddings are celebrated Satur-days at 2pm. Quinceañeras Celebraciones son Sábados. Las quinceañeras tienen que haber recibido los sacramentos (por lo menos 1ra Comunión). Comuníquese con la oficina para hacer una cita por lo menos 4 meses antes de la celebración. Para reservar la fecha de la Quinceañera la donación es de $350 y se debe traer el día de la cita.
