Reflec ons with the Word of God from the priests of St. Cecilia Parish 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Read Proverbs 31: 10-13, 19-20, 30; 1 Thessalonians 5: 1-6; Ma hew 25: 14-30 The Body of Christ, each member of the Church, remains in Jesus
to produce the fruits of the talents He gave us. In scripture a talent was not a coin, but a measure of value worth about 100 pounds of silver which would be equivalent to 20 years of wages. The one who
received 5 talents meant 100 years of paychecks! However, the parable encourages us to move away from thinking amount received but match this abundant generosity through carrying out the works of God throughout a life me. To understand the spiritual focus of your talents, see which statement mo vates you the most to do the works of God. I enjoy praying a lot and going to Mass because:
1.- It helps me spend much extra me in prayer as I see its power helping the lives of others. 2.- It helps me encourage and teach others to succeed and not give up. 3.- It helps me weep with those who weep and laugh with those who laugh. 4.- It helps me to effec vely organize and set up a room for any kind of event. 5.- It helps me do the detailed research needed prior to ge ng a plan started. Now that’s a lot of talent!!
Now read the Proverbs passage about the worthy wife. This wisdom reading praises the energy, tenacity, intelligence and love this very worthy woman gives to every aspect of life. As Jesus is the bridegroom of the Church, the worthy wife is a reference to us the members of the Church. Are we like her?
Also, each talent includes God’s precious gi s of mercy and love. Let us open our minds, hearts, and hands to use the talents for others so that they will imitate us and mul ply the works of God! Jesus, my Lord and my God, help us to remain in you, so all of us as your bride can produce talents that last an eternity!
Reflexiones de la Palabra de Dios por los Padres de la Iglesia Santa Cecilia 33 Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario
" El Cuerpo de Cristo, cada miembro de la Iglesia permanece en Jesús para producir los frutos de los talentos que nos dio.”
En las Escrituras un talento no era una moneda, sino una medida de valor que estaba alrededor de 100 libras de plata que equivaldría a 20 años de salario. El que
recibió 5 talentos significaba 100 años de cheques de pago. Sin embargo, la parábola nos anima a ver más que el valor monetario es más bien ver cómo podemos igualar la generosidad de Dios a lo largo de la vida.
Para entender el enfoque espiritual de tus talentos, lee los siguientes puntos para ver que te mo va más a hacer las obras de Dios. Disfruto orar e ir a misa porque:
1.- Me ayuda a pasar mucho empo extra en oración al ver su poder ayudando a la vida de los demás. 2.- Me ayuda a alentar y enseñar a los demás a tener éxito y no rendirse. 3.- Me ayuda a llorar con los que lloran y reír con los que se ríen. 4.- Me ayuda a organizar y establecer eficazmente una sala para cualquier po de evento. 5.- Me ayuda a hacer la inves gación detallada necesaria antes de comenzar un plan. ¡¡Eso es mucho talento!!
Ahora lee el pasaje de Proverbios sobre la esposa digna. Esta lectura de sabiduría alaba la energía, la tenacidad, la inteligencia y el amor que esta mujer tan digna da a todos los aspectos de la vida. Como Jesús es el novio de la Iglesia, la esposa digna es una referencia a nosotros los miembros de la Iglesia. ¿Somos como ella?
Además, cada talento incluye los preciosos dones de misericordia y amor de Dios. ¡Abramos nuestras mentes, corazones y manos para usar los talentos para los demás para que nos imiten y mul pliquen las obras de Dios! Sacrament of Marriage The Pastoral Guidelines for Marriage Prepara-tion are that a minimum of 7 months be set aside for personal preparation for marriage. Couples should refrain from setting a firm date until after they have called the office to discuss marriage plans. Weddings are celebrated Satur-days at 2pm. Quinceañeras Celebraciones son Sábados. Las quinceañeras tienen que haber recibido los sacramentos (por lo menos 1ra Comunión). Comuníquese con la oficina para hacer una cita por lo menos 4 meses antes de la celebración. Para reservar la fecha de la Quinceañera la donación es de $350 y se debe traer el día de la cita.
