Sta ons of the Cross with Adora on – Lent 2021
The custom of praying the sta ons during Lent will be modified this year due to the pandemic. We are offering a wonderful
opportunity to spend me with Jesus Christ in Adora on and to pray and reflect quietly with the Sta ons of the Cross in the language of your choice. When: Every Friday during Lent from 6:30
to 7:30pm all are welcome to attend a Holy Hour in
church.
Par cipants may use their Internet on their cell phone for the Sta ons or use the guide that we will provide. The guide will be published in the bulle n and you can use it every me you come to worship. Therefore, we recommend that you save your bulle n and bring it every Friday of Lent so that we can pray the seasons together and experience the gi of the Passion of Jesus for us.

Reflec ons on the Word of God with Fr. Oswaldo and Fr. Gene Read Genesis 22: 1-2, 9-13, 15-18 Romans 8: 31-34 and Mark 9: 2-10
The Luminous Mystery of the Transfiguration! The readings begin with the compelling and yet terrifying account of Abraham’s obedience to God’s command to sacrifice his only bego en son Isaac. Abraham’s trus ng faith foreshadows the ul mate sacrifice of God who did not spare his own Son but gave him over to the crucifixion.
Reflec ng on the Father’s persistent desire to give us his Son we learn: God gives us Jesus as a gi of peace at his birth; as a gi of wisdom in sta ng, “this is my Beloved Son listen to him”; through Pilate’s “behold the man,” and the crowd shou ng “crucify him” as the gi of our
sacrifice. At Easter Jesus is the gi of forgiveness, redemp on, and the ongoing sacrifice in the bread and wine of Eucharist. Jesus does not withhold himself from being offered, he loves the Father beyond our understanding, and he desires for us to live with them forever.
Original sin, the resistance to living fully in God is the root of all sin, suffering and death. Following Jesus and accep ng our cross as the remedy to death can be frightening. To keep us from losing faith and hope, Jesus gives us a glimpse of heaven in the Transfigura on. Always going up the mountain to be apart to pray in communion with the Father, this
me he takes three apostles with him to witness the power of his prayer. An inner light fills him, his face shines, and his clothes are radiant as a heavenly being. Then he converses with Moses and Elijah who had died and had not yet been released from Sheol! Jesus explains to them about his departure – from the Greek transla on éxodos – his death and Resurrec on.
Ponder: Where did Moses and Elijah return to a er this encounter? What was it like for them and the apostles to comprehend an eternal life a er death? What did their life in Jesus mean for them now? What does life mean for us now? Perhaps the answers lie within Abraham’s trust in the inexhaus ble love of the Lord.

¡El misterio Luminoso de la Transfiguración!
Las lecturas comienzan con el relato convincente y aterrador de la obediencia de Abraham al mandato de Dios de sacrificar a su hijo único Isaac. La fe confiada de Abraham dibuja el sacrificio final de Dios a su Hijo cuando en la cruz.
Reflexionando sobre el deseo persistente del Padre de darnos a su Hijo, aprendemos que Dios nos da a su Hijo como un don de paz en su Nacimiento; con un don de sabiduría al decir, “este es mi Amado Hijo, escúchenlo”; a través de Pilato “he aqui el hombre” y la mul tud gritando: “cruci calo” como el don de nuestro sacrificio. En la Pascua Jesus es el don del perdón, la
redención y el sacrificio con nuo en el pan y en el vino de la Eucaris a. Jesus no se re ene de ser ofrecido, el ama al Padre mas allá de nuestro entendimiento, y desea que vivamos con ellos para siempre.
El pecado original, la resistencia a vivir plenamente en Dios es la raíz de todo pecado, sufrimiento y muerte. Seguir a Jesus y aceptar la cruz como remedio a la muerte puede ser aterrador. Para evitar que perdamos la fe y la esperanza, Jesus nos da una visión del cielo en la Transfiguración. Siempre subiendo por la montaña para estar aparte para orar en comunión con el Padre; esta vez toma tres apóstoles con el para presenciar el poder de su oración. Una luz interior lo llena, su rostro brilla y su ropa es radiante con un ser celes al. Y habla con Moisés y Elías que ya habían muerto y que aún no habían sido liberados del Sheol. Jesus les expliac sobre su par da, muerte y resusrreccion.
Reflexionar: ¿a dónde regresó Moisés y Elías después de este encuentro? ¿Cómo era para ellos y los apóstoles comprender una vida eterna después de la muerte? ¿Qué significa su vida en Jesús para ellos ahora? ¿Qué significa la vida para nosotros ahora? Tal vez las respuestas se encuentren dentro de la confianza de Abraham en el amor inagotable del Señor.

Final Part APOSTOLIC LETTER: PATRIS CORDE OF THE HOLY FATHER FRANCIS
The aim of this Apostolic Letter is to increase our love for this great saint, to encourage us to implore his intercession and to imitate his virtues and his zeal. Indeed, the proper mission of the saints is not only to obtain miracles and graces, but to intercede for us before God, like Abraham[26] and Moses[27], and like Jesus, the “one mediator” (1 Tim 2:5), who is our “advocate” with the Father (1 Jn 2:1) and who “always lives to make intercession for [us]” (Heb 7:25; cf. Rom 8:34). The saints help all the faithful “to strive for the holiness and the perfection of their particular state of life”.[28] Their lives are concrete proof that it is possible to put the Gospel into practice.
Jesus told us: “Learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart” (Mt 11:29). The lives of the saints too are examples to be imitated. Saint Paul explicitly says this: “Be imitators of me!” (1 Cor 4:16).[29] By his eloquent silence, Saint Joseph says the same. Before the example of so many holy men and women, Saint Augustine asked himself: “What they could do, can you not also do?” And so he drew closer to his definitive conversion, when he could exclaim: “Late have I loved you, Beauty ever ancient, ever new!”[30]
We need only ask Saint Joseph for the grace of graces: our conversion. Let us now make our prayer to him:
Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
To you God entrusted his only Son; in you Mary placed her trust; with you Christ became man.
Blessed Joseph, to us too, show yourself a father and guide us in the path of life.
Obtain for us grace, mercy and courage, and defend us from every evil. Amen.

CARTA APOSTÓLICA: PATRIS CORDE: “Con Corazón de Padre” DEL SANTO PADRE FRANCISCO
El objetivo de esta Carta apostólica es que crezca el amor a este gran santo, para ser impulsados a implorar su intercesión e imitar sus virtudes, como también su resolución. En efecto, la misión específica de los santos no es sólo la de conceder milagros y gracias, sino la de interceder por nosotros ante Dios, como hicieron Abrahán[26] y Moisés[27], como hace Jesús, «único mediador» (1 Tm 2,5), que es nuestro «abogado» ante Dios Padre (1 Jn 2,1), «ya que vive eternamente para interceder por nosotros» (Hb 7,25; cf. Rm 8,34). Los santos ayudan a todos los fieles «a la plenitud de la vida cristiana y a la perfección de la caridad»[28]. Su vida es una prueba concreta de que es posible vivir el Evangelio. Jesús dijo: «Aprendan de mí, que soy manso y humilde de corazón» (Mt 11,29), y ellos a su vez son ejemplos de vida a imitar. San Pablo exhortó explícitamente: «Vivan como imitadores míos» (1 Co 4,16)[29]. San José lo dijo a través de su elocuente silencio. Ante el ejemplo de tantos santos y santas, san Agustín se preguntó: «¿No podrás tú lo que éstos y éstas?». Y así llegó a la conversión definitiva exclamando: «¡Tarde te amé, belleza tan antigua y tan nueva!»[30].
No queda más que implorar a san José la gracia de las gracias: nuestra conversión. A él dirijamos nuestra oración:
Salve, custodio del Redentor y esposo de la Virgen María.
A ti Dios confió a su Hijo, en ti María depositó su confianza,

Adoration / Stations of the cross ‘21
During Lent this year, we are offering an opportunity to spend time with Jesus Christ in Adoration and to pray, and reflect on the Station of the Cross. Be at one with Him, with you, and with your community of faith. First Station: Jesus is condemned to death “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven” (Mt 7:21) Second Station: Jesus takes up his Cross “If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me” (Lk 9:23)
Third Station: Jesus falls for the first time “He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows” (Is 53:4)
Fourth Station: Jesus meets his Mother “And a sword will pierce through your own soul also, that thoughts out of many hearts may be revealed” (Lk 2:35)
Fifth Station: Simon the Cyrenean helps Jesus to carry the cross “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ” (Gal 6:2)

Lord Jesus, once more you are in the hands of men, but this time, they are the loving hands of Jo-seph of Arimathea and some pious women from Galilee, who know that your body is precious. Their hands represent the hands of all who never tire of serving you and making visible the love of which human beings are capable. It is this love that makes us hope in the possibility of a better world. We need only be willing to let ourselves be met by the grace that comes from you. O God, eternal light and endless day, fill with your blessings those who devote themselves to your praise and to the service of those who suffer in the count-less places of human pain and sorrow. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Este año en Cuaresma, se ofrece la oportunidad que pasar tiempo con Cristo en la Adoracion y a la vez, rezar las Estaciones de la Cruz. Es una noche especial para compartir con Dios, contigo y con la comunidad de fe. I Estación: Jesús es condenado a muerte «No todo el que me dice “Señor, Señor” entrará en el reino de los cielos, sino el que hace la voluntad de mi Padre que está en los cielos» (Mt 7,21)
II Estación: Jesús con la cruz a cuestas «Si alguno quiere venir en pos de mí, que se niegue a sí mismo, tome su cruz cada día y me siga» (Lc 9,23)
III Estación: Jesús cae por primera vez «Él soportó nuestros sufrimientos y aguantó nuestros dolores» (Is 53,4)
IV Estación: Jesús encuentra a su Madre «Una espada te traspasará el alma» (cf. Lc 2,35)
V Estación: El Cireneo ayuda a Jesús a llevar la cruz «Llevad los unos las cargas de los otros y así cumpliréis la ley de Cristo» (Ga 6,2)

Sacrament of Marriage The Pastoral Guidelines for Marriage Preparation are that a minimum of 7 months be set aside for personal preparation for marriage. Couples should refrain from setting a firm date until after they have called the office to discuss marriage plans. Weddings are celebrated Saturdays at 2pm.
Quinceañeras Celebraciones son Sábados. Las quinceañeras tienen que haber recibido los sacramentos (por lo menos 1ra Comunión). Comuníquese con la oficina para hacer una cita por lo menos 4 meses antes de la celebración. Para reservar la fecha de la Quinceañera la donación es de $375 y se debe traer el día de la cita.
