I will place my law within them and write it

upon their hearts; I will be their God, and they shall be

my people. — Jeremiah 31:33

Saint Charles Parish San Diego / Imperial Beach Page Two

Daily Prayer For Priests O Jesus, I pray for your faithful and fervent priests; For your unfaithful and tepid priests; For your priests laboring at home or abroad in distant mission fields. For your tempted priests; For your lonely and desolate priests; For your young priests; For your dying priests; For the souls of your priests in Purgatory. But above all, I recommend to you the priests dearest to me: The priest who baptized me; The priests who absolved me from my sins; The priests at whose Masses I assisted and who gave me Your Body and Blood in Holy Communion; The priests who taught and instructed me; All the priests to whom I am indebted in any other way (especially_________). O Jesus, keep them all close to your heart, And bless them abundantly in time and in Eternity. Amen By St. Therese of Lisieux

Our Mission St. Charles is a Christ focused, diverse, family centered, Catholic community serving Imperial Beach and the South Bay. We believe in the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and His saving grace received through the Sacraments. We believe in the Holy Catholic Church instituted by Jesus, the sanctity of life, the value of family, and lifelong Catholic education for all ages. We live to deepen our love of God, spread His Gospel and bring others to Christ. We are committed to a life of prayer, sacrifice, and service to those in need. With love, humility, and joyful obedience, we strive to be transformed and guided by the Holy Spirit until we are transformed in the eternal life of Heaven.

SAVED BY GOD’S LOVE

Because the people broke the old covenant, God promised a new covenant, not in the blood of oxen and other animals, but in the blood of the Son, Jesus Christ. This new covenant, foreseen from afar by Jeremiah and the prophets, was not to be engraved on stone, or written on paper, but carved on our hearts, so that we might know God intimately. Not by keeping many laws are we to be saved, but by the love of God, living and real in our hearts through the sacrifice of Christ. Our Eucharist is the pledge of that indwelling of Christ, and of our response of praise and thanksgiving to God for the mercy, love, and kindness shown to us in forgiving our sins and cleansing our hearts of everything evil. God issues this invitation to intimacy by of-fering us the chance to have our sufferings transformed into the per-fect love of the Savior, who first loved us. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

(Diary of St. Faustina, 327) "The soul that will go to confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment . . . Let no soul fear to draw near to me, even though its sins be as scarlet. . . mankind will have no peace until it turns to the Fount of My mercy." (Diary 699) Our Lord's promise to grant complete forgiveness of sins and punishment on the Feast of Divine Mercy for the faithful who are in a state of grace, to confess all serious sins through the Sacrament of Penance, to receive Communion and to pray for the Holy Father's intentions by reciting the Lord's Prayer, the Apostle's Creed, and end with the Ejacula-tion, "Merciful Jesus, I trust in You."

Copyright © J. S.
