Her LifeShe was born to a wealthy family,

but she longed for a more spiritual life.

As she grew older, she developed a disinterest for the world and her passion for Christ grew.

When she was 18, St. Frances of Assisi came to preach in Assisi.

Her Life Part 2When she heard St. Francis

of Assisi preach, her heart burned with a great desire to imitate Francis and to live a poor humble life for Jesus. So one evening, she ran away from home, and in a little chapel outside Assisi, gave herself to God. St. Francis cut off her hair and gave her a rough brown habit to wear, tied with a plain cord around her waist. Her parents tried in every way to make her return home, but Clare would not.

Her Life Part 3Soon her younger sister, St. Agnes joined

her, as well as other young women who wanted to be brides of Jesus, and live without any money. St. Clare and her sisters wore no shoes, ate no meat, lived in a poor house, and kept silent most of the time. Yet they were very happy, because Our Lord was close to them all the time.

Once, He saved them from a great danger in answer to St. Clare's prayer. This is what happened...

Her Most Popular Miracle

Her most popular miracle was when she saved the Poor Clares from an attack. An army was about to attack the convent where Saint Clare was and Saint Clare displayed the host in a pyx and begged God to spare her and her Sisters (that was literal, because St. Agnes was at the same convent and her older sister is Saint Clare) There was a loud thunder crack and the army was scared off.

One of her other miracles was when she saved a little girl from a wolf that was attacking her.

Prayer to Saint Clare Father, my desire is to see the path you have

laid out for me more clearly. Help me to gain insight through means that will blatantly appear before me so that there is no question in my mind as to the path to take. I desperately desire to find my mission in Life and I know that as Jesus had a Passion, I too have a passion that You placed into my heart at birth. I seek Your Guidance and Divine Intervention.

Through Jesus Christ's Precious, Pure and Holy name I pray. - Amen
