SCRIPTURE READINGS FOR NEXT WEEK First Reading ~ Exodus 17:8-13
Second Reading ~ 2 Timothy 3:14, 4:2 Gospel ~ Luke 18:1-8
READ THEM AHEAD & REFLECT!
IMPOSSIBLE IS A HOPEFUL WORD, FOR IT’S A DIRECT INVITATION TO LET GOD IN.
STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT: Jesus healed ten lepers in today’s Gospel. Only one (10%) returned to say thank you. I too, have received many blessings from the Lord – indeed, all I am and all I have is a gift! How and how often have I remembered to thank him?
SCRIPTURAL REFLECTION: Jesus sounded annoyed in today’s Gospel because only one leper returned to say “thanks.” Sounds a lot like our homes where we routinely perform THANKLESS TASKS. These are sacred moments where we learn to give without expecting a return. Giving is its own reward.
ST. EDWARD HEALTH MINISTRY will be setting up a display during the month of November as a memorial for our beloved dead. Please bring in your framed standing photos the weekends of October 16/17 & 23/24. Tags will be attached to your photos and a box in which to put them in is in the elevator room. Pick up photos on Nov 27/28.

GRACE IS GOD’S RICHES AT CHRIST’S EXPENSE.
SACRAMENTS OF RECONCILIATION AND FIRST COMMUNION FOR SECOND GRADE. It is our pleasure to work with you as your child begins final preparation to receive the sacraments of Penance and Reconciliation. By forgiving your child countless times and encouraging your child to forgive others, you have done the most important preparation for this sacrament. We, the staff of St. Edward, look forward to the celebration of the sacraments scheduled for Sunday, November 21st at 10:15am in the Church. Preparation sessions for First Reconciliation will be Sunday, October 17th at 10am and Sunday, November 14th at 10am.
GREATNESS LIES IN NOT TRYING TO BE SOMEBODY BUT IN TRYING TO HELP SOMEBODY.
