Celebrating 125 YearsPlease join the St. Francis Xavier Church community as we "Extend the Table" to our Catholic community and the whole of Missoula on September 16, 2017 from 5-9:00 pm. On that Saturday we will celebrate the 125th anniversary of the construction of our beloved church building and will be marking that event with a big day of fun! The 400 block of Pine Street will be closed so that we will be able to extend a table right down the middle of the street. Food vendors, live music, and a Mass celebrated by Bishop George Leo Thomas are just some of the highlights of this special day of celebration. The price of admission is simply cans of food in support of the Missoula Food Bank. Please mark your calendar for September 16th!

Join us as we Extend the Table--- September 16th 2017 from 5 - 9 pm

PRAYER OF THE MONTH

Loving God, our Creator, we pray for leaders and decision-makers, that policies may be redirected towards peace and human rights, rather than the continuation of war and oppression. We pray for all who are involved in the arms trade, that they may realize the real consequences of their actions. We pray for the conversion of hearts and minds; and for the conversion of the arms industry towards productive purposes. Give us the strength to work for an end to the arms trade. We offer these prayers in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace. Amen.

by Helen Boothroyd in Campaign Against Arms Trade (www.caat.org.uk)

Anima Christi

The song we sing as our communion meditation song is the Anima Christi. This well-known Catholic prayer dates back to the early 14th century. It was a favorite prayer of St. Ignatius, which he included in his Spiritual Exercises. The version we are singing here at St. Francis is com-posed by Donna Cori Gibson. It is not on iTunes, but you can find it on her website along with many other beautiful, prayerful songs. I encourage you to check out her website at www.donnacorigibson.com.

If you are willing and able to help usher at our 10am Mass on Sundays, please contact Rachael

Beck in the parish office. Thank you!
