Progress Report: On Friday, October 16, Claire & Father Ray had a conference call with the contrac-tor. They plan on doing the repairs in two phases: Phase One: repair the hole in the ceiling. After Phase One, we’ll be able to have Mass there again. Then Phase Two: upgrade electrical wiring in the attic, install a cat-walk and install two support beams. They will work up a proposal (with prices) for Phase Two and get back to us. Because of all the construction currently underway, they are having trouble finding a plasterer willing to take on such a small project (Phase One). They will get back to us when they find one. In the meantime, we pray and wait. More news when there is some. Thanks for your patience.

This weekend, November 01 is the end of Daylight Savings Time. Be sure that you turn your clocks back one hour!

ALL SOULS DAY ENVELOPES This Monday, November 2 is All Souls Day. For those who use envelopes: use the enve-lope in your pack. For those who don’t: use the envelopes provided in the Church. Please list your deceased loved ones in the space pro-

vided and return the envelope to us soon as you can. Your intentions will be placed on the altar throughout the month of November. There is no need to enclose any money. If you do include an offering, a Mass will be cel-ebrated (here or elsewhere) for your specified intention or for your deceased loved ones (for each $10 offering). Please call the office if you have any questions (603-934-5013). All Souls Masses on Monday: 8 AM & 7 PM.

Travel Group Activity: Because the COVID issues remain the same, we have postponed any plans for traveling as a group. Unless we can travel without a mask, social distancing, or quarantining upon return we will not plan anything. As soon as it is safe to ‘move about’ the country, we will let you know!

Holiday Pork Pies: The Knights of Co-lumbus will be selling Pork Pies again this year. Full pies are $15.00 each or 2 small

individual pies in a package for $15.00. They will deliver if you are unable to pick up at Church. To place an order please call or email Mark Lemire – 603-738-3101. Don’t miss out on this tasty holiday tradition.

Pope Francis’ Prayer Intentions for November– Artificial Intelligence: We pray That the progress of robotics and artificial intelligence may always serve humankind.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK Anyone can be a saint! Have you ever heard of Venerable William Gagnon? He was a religious broth-er, born in Dover, NH in 1905, who grew up in New Hampshire. When he was 27 years old, he joined the Hospital Order of St. John of God. These religious brothers minister in hospitals, clinics and nursing homes. From 1952 to 1972, he served the sick and wounded in Vietnam, with such devotion and compas-sion that his religious community and the people he served considered him a saint. Soon after his death (in 1972, during the Vietnam War), the Order of St. John started the process of having him declared a saint. The Vatican researched his life, interviewed people who knew him, and studied miracles people claimed they had obtained through his intercession. On December 14, 2015, Pope Francis declared him Venerable. The next step is “Beatification”. Once it is determined that William interceded in the granting of another miracle, he will be declared “Blessed”. After more study of his life

and more prayer, he will hopefully be declared a saint and proposed for veneration by the whole Church. He’ll have his assigned feast day on the Church calendar and may even have chapels or churches named in his honor. By the way, did I mention, he’s my second cousin? Only a tiny fraction of those enjoying eternal life with God have gone through this ‘Canonization Pro-cess”. Those that do are proposed to us as living proof that, in every day and age (and culture), one can be-come a saint. I’ll bet that if you look around, you’ll see a number of people in your life, whose love for God and love for others is not only noticeable but inspiring. These are living saints! Could it be one of your rela-tives? You can only hope that the holiness gene they inherited has made is down to your DNA. Most probably, you will never have a church named after you or even be considered holy by your con-temporaries, but if God thinks you’re venerable, or blessed, or a saint, you’ve made it! Happy Feast Day!

From the desk of Mrs. Dzujna, CRE: Our first week went well and the children were happy learning about God. I visited each classroom and noticed smiles, laughter, and teachers who were sharing their love for God. I look so forward to our continued time together and to many more students enrolling in our program. Un-fortunately we were off last week due to issues in the pub-lic schools, but we are back this week! There is still time to register and you can do so by coming to our Sunday program at the Boutin Center, which begins at 9 AM. Last week, I chatted about how important prayer is in our lives and in building our Church Community. I talked about how Prayer comes in many forms. This week I would like to share with you how Prayer can help us by: • Becoming a better and more loving person. • Improving our attitudes. • Growing from life experiences. • Deepening our relationship with God.

• Becoming aware of and concerned about the needs of others. • Appreciating the good things God has given us. • Developing compassion.

“You pay God a compliment by asking great things of Him.” Teresa of Avila

NATIONAL VOCATION

AWARENESS

Did you know that in our coun-try, compared to 50 years ago, there are 20,000 fewer priests and 130,000 fewer religious sisters? At the same time, the Catholic population has continued to grow steadi-ly. Many factors have contributed to the decline: growing secularism, a lengthened period of adolescence, attitudes about celibacy, etc. During National Vocation Awareness week, please pray that young people today will hear and respond to God’s call. And do your part to encourage them to consider the priesthood and religious life.
