Thank you to our parishioners who continue to sup-port us electronically and to those who have mailed in donations. It looks like we’re facing a second month without Masses (and weekly collections). We have placed a mail slot in the office door so you can drop off your envelopes at your convenience. With your sustained support, we can keep from fall-ing too far behind on our utilities, assessments and payroll. .

AN ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

Since you cannot receive Holy Communion through TV or the internet, please use this prayer to make a “Spiritual Act of Communion”: My Jesus. I believe that You are present In the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, And I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, Come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. AMEN

HOLY WEEK SERVICES We have been asked to tell you when we are celebrating the Triduum Services so you can join us in prayer from your homes. Holy Thursday: 7 PM (T) No foot washing, ad-oration or Tenebrae. Good Friday: 3 PM (F) No processions, add prayers for virus victims. Easter Vigil: 7 PM (F) No outdoor fire ceremo-ny or procession; candle is blessed and lit, no Baptism rite, holy water is blessed, promises renewed, regular Sunday Mass. Easter Sunday: 9:30 AM (T) No Bapt. Promise Renewal, regular Sunday Mass.

Palm Sunday (Palms): Fr. Ray will bless the palms on Saturday afternoon and you can come get some at either church. Weather permitting: in Franklin at the main entrance and in Tilton at the handicap entrance. Please take time to reflect on the Passion of Our Lord with your family, remember all that he suffered for us. Also, it would be nice if you can take palms to your elderly neighbors. We will be providing palms to all the nursing homes for dis-tribution.

“STAY AT HOME UNTIL MAY 4th” This civil decree will continue to impact our parish life:

Daily and Weekend Masses will continue to be private.

Our churches will be open for private prayer on weekdays from 3-6 PM.

We will have Confessions on each Saturday at 3:15 PM in Franklin (indoors).

Attendance at funerals will be limited to immedi-ate family members (approx. 10 people).

Palms can be picked up at the church doors after they have been blessed.

Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday Services will be private.

Confirmation/First Eucharist scheduled for Sun-day May 3 will have to be rescheduled. (watch the bulletin for information)

Divine Mercy Sunday services scheduled in Laco-nia have been cancelled.

Annual 300 Club Banquet, scheduled for Satur-day, May 9 has been cancelled this year. Grand prizes will be drawn at the end of April.

Financial information was not available when this bulletin was due. We will post the information in the next bulletin.

Pope Francis’ Prayer Intentions for April - Free-dom from Addiction: We Pray that those suffering from addiction may be helped and accompanied

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK A Different Kind of lent and Easter! I am sure we will remember this year’s Lent, Holy Week and Easter Season for a long time. It is certainly not what we planned or prayed for! LENT: We managed to celebrate three Sundays of Lent and half of our Adult Discussion sessions before they pulled the plug. Our children saw their religious instruction terminated with several classes left to go. Now, church is locked up and we have to stay 6 feet away from each other. HOLY WEEK: Processions , proclamation of the Passion, washing of feet, Tenebrae, veneration of the Cross, acceptance of new Catholics, and the renewal of Baptism Promises won’t take place this year. We’ve lost all of these special moments that helped us focus on what it means to be a Catholic. EASTER: The joyful hymns, the triple Alleluia, the awesome decorations and blessing with East-er Water, that put us in the Easter spirit are like-wise gone! So what is left? A kind of “do it yourself” Lent

and Easter. Parents are expected to complete their children’s instruction. Adults are asked to do those last few discussion topics on their own. Families are asked to gather in front of the TV to watch Sunday Mass and to huddle together for family prayer. In other words, the Church was there to guide us through the first half of Lent. For the second half, we’re on our own. It would be great if most people just embraced their responsi-bilities and ‘stepped up to the plate”. But if you’re like me, you can’t wait until the structure and con-venience of the Church’s ministry is restored. Is it possible that God allowed this to happen so that we would grow up and take charge of our faith (and our children’s)? If you’re like me, long be-fore May 4th, we will be more than ready to re-turn to Mass and so relieved that things are back to normal. If this is a sign of where things are headed, “Give me that Old Time Religion!”

Because the number of ‘Private Masses’ are limited, there is not enough masses for all intentions scheduled. If your intention is not listed it will be rescheduled. If an intention was noted for a special occasion we gave preference on the date originally requested.

IMPORTANT The 300-Club Banquet is cancelled this year. Even if the “Stay at Home Edict” is lifted in time, we can’t afford to pay for the dinner (Approx. $2000.00). We will have lost two months of weekly collections.

With the concern over the Coronavirus people cannot attend Mass,. Unfortunately our bills do not stop. Have you con-sidered continuing your support of your parish by E-Giving? Check out the option on our web page: www.stgabielnh.org. We thank you!

BEING THERE FOR EACH OTHER Just because we are adhering to social dis-tancing does not mean that we need to ne-glect our neighbors. There is a lot we can

do for others and still maintain a safe distance. * Check on your elderly neighbors, see if you can help by doing their grocery shopping, getting their mail or newspaper, prescriptions, etc.; * Maybe you can drop off a meal or share some cook-ies or other treat; * Send food or gift cards to someone who has lost their job. Care for their children so they can get a break. * Help with yard work or Spring cleaning.

300 Club Congratulations to our March winners:

$100.00 - Lynne Niven #183

$ 50.00 - Carol Edmunds #085

$ 25.00 - Kyle Sims #028

Our thanks to all club members who help us pay our bills. May God repay your kindness!

GENEROUS DONATIONS In the past two weeks, we have received several really generous donations from friends and parish-ioners. May God repay their kindness. Thanks to them, we may come close to meeting our expens-es.
