TWENTY-SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

HISPANIC MINISTRY

We are now only two weeks away from the Clarity Walk For Life 2019. This important fund raiser will take place at John Hardin High School on Saturday, September 14th

beginning at 9am. It is a two mile, “family friendly” walk, two laps around the John Hardin campus. Clarity Solutions is a local non-profit Christian organization, not affiliated with any particular religious denomination, that provides accurate information about positive alternatives to abortion and compassionate assistance to those in our community who face an unplanned pregnancy. All services provided by Clarity are free and confidential. Next week’s Bulletin will contain a more thorough listing of the services they provide.

How to become involved: Establish a Team, or signup as a Walker or a Sponsor. Walkers associate themselves with a team and seek sponsors who sponsor them by making a pledge or donation to the Clarity Walk For Life 2019. Team. As I write, the only team

representing St. James is the St. James Respect Life Committee with walkers Buddy and Evie Doyle. Of course, we invite everyone to join our team. But, other organizations or groups of our parish are welcome to establish their own teams. Clarity Solutions is the beneficiary in any case. That’s what really counts. Walker. I urge you to sign up as a walker, if you are able. Because, a walker whose sponsors’ donations and pledges add up to $250 dollars will receive a very nice, free commemorative tee-shirt. Sponsor. If unable or unavailable to walk, please sponsor a walker with a donation or pledge. You’ll be supporting Clarity’s important work which, after all, is what really matters. How to sign up. There are four ways: 1. Online signup at www.supportclarity.org. At that website select: EVENTS. Then select: WALK FOR LIFE. Then select: Register NOW for the 2019 Walk For Life! Then: To register as a Walker: Select: PARTICIPATE. Or: To register as a Sponsor: Select: GIVE. Enter the requested information and you are registered. 2. Volunteer explainers/instructors will be at tables in the Church Narthex (vestibule) after each of the Masses next weekend. They will be able to show you how to sign up and how to make a pledge of a donation to the Clarity Walk For Life. It is not necessary to give money at these tables, Clarity will send you a donation envelope for your pledge, afterwards. 3. You can simply phone Clarity Solutions at (270)234-1122 in order to register. 4. You can register at the Walk itself. Registration table there will open at 8:30am. Thank you for reading this. No matter how you register, and even if you don’t register or participate at all, please do go

to the website: www.supportclarity.org. Check out the RESOURCES drop-down menu on the first page. Rummage

around there. It will fill your heart with Hope.

SAINT JAMES CATHOLIC SCHOOL

Thank you for a fantastic event! We are so grateful to the entire Saint James

community for making our first ever Community Picnic a success. Like always, our parish responded

to the event with generosity and enthusiasm. We had an abundance of cakes donated, more gift baskets for the silent auction than we anticipated, more people

wanting to buy dinner than dinners to sell, more gift cards and quilts than we expected to raffle off and sold more capital prize tickets than ever expected!

Our Saint James community is one that comes together and makes things happen and the picnic

committee could not be more grateful for the effort everyone put into making the event a success! We are

still finalizing our revenue and expenses and will share with you our net profit to benefit the

parish and school once we have it.

Congratulations to our raffle winners! Quilt Raffle Winners
