Catholic Communications $248.00

Utilities $482.00 Although we are now once again able to attend Mass,

many of us are still not able to go. You can mail a check to

the parish office in your donation envelope or a plain

envelope. Please do not send cash through the mail.

We have set up an online giving option through our

website. Please consider using this method in place of

mailing or hand delivering your donations. Thank you

to those of you who donate to Saint James this way.

THANK YOU!!!

PARTNERS IN CHARITY APPEAL We are conducting our Annual Partners in Charity

Appeal through the mail or through direct donations online

through the Diocesan website. Thank you. Once again, the

goal for our parish is $40,000.

GIFTS/PLEDGES $23,440.

BALANCE FOR GOAL $16,560.

THE HARVEST FAIR NEEDS YOU!

While we are all living a “new normal” and many of us

are staying at home, please don't forget that our fall Harvest

Fair could use your help. We are in great need of crafts.

Any type of craft will do. Jewelry, signs, floral

arrangements, wreaths, scarves, knits, crochets, gifts in jars,

etc.

We are also looking for any new item or gift certificate

to restaurants or any business for the Silent Auction. Many

places have been hit hard so we don't know how many will

donate this year. By purchasing an item or gift certificate

from one of our local businesses, we can give them the

support they definitely need right now. Thanks to those

who have donated gift cards already!

The Buy-A-Basket table looking for your help. In need

of baskets size medium to large, Please.

NO Easter baskets. need neutral, fall, or winter tone

baskets. If you'd like to donate an already

filled themed basket, that would be ideal. Also, if you have

any items or could purchase items that

they could use to help fill the baskets that would also be

wonderful!

The Fair is our big fundraiser for the year and if we each

do our part we will again have a great Fair. We certainly

can use the funds for our beautiful Parish. Fr. David has

been working so hard since he got here. We would love to

show him our gratitude with a great Harvest Fair.

Thanks in advance for your generosity,

THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST JUNE 14, 2020

Registration for Next Year Online registration can be done at stjamesgrafton.com. for

next year’s Religious Ed classes. Please take a moment to

register your child(ren). Please call or email if you have any

questions! Thank you to those who have already registered.

Ministry Opportunities at Saint James: Thank you to all those who have stepped forward to

teach Religious Education on Sundays next fall! Classes for

grades 1-5 will be taught on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am

before the 10:30 am Mass. Grades 6 and 7 will be held on

Monday evenings, unless someone would like to teach on

Sunday mornings. We still need teachers for grades 5

through 7 so if you would like to volunteer please contact

Carole, our Religious Education Administrator, by

emailing her at [email protected]. Besides teachers,

we need aides and subs. Thank you in advance!

Let’s Raise Our Voices Together!

We would like to invite you to join our New Adult Choir.

We will be singing every Sunday morning at the 10:30

Mass. When we sing, we are praying, we are joyful and we

are sharing our faith with our parish family.

Everyone is invited! Please email Tricia at

[email protected] if you are interested.

We will keep you all informed on dates and times as we

move forward. Let us all pray for this time apart to end

soon so that we can once again join together in God's

house. Tricia Saviet

I have returned to the parish office and

will resume my regular office hours. If

you should need to see me there, I ask

that you wear a mask. Please take care of

yourselves and pray for us all.

Celeste

Our webmaster, Sandy Caldwell,

is leaving the Parish as she moves

to Florida with her husband this

Fall. We are looking for a faith

filled, willing volunteer to take

over the task of being a web

evangel. If you have a heart for

God, love Saint James, and want

to show the world how we are flowering as a Parish, this

job is for you! eCatholic hosts the website, using modules,

so no need to know coding. If you can point and click, you

can do this job. Sandy will be your guide until you are

ready to go it alone. All you need is a good Internet

connection and lots of love. We’d like to have this post

filled before August 1. If you are interested, call Father

David or Celeste. This is a volunteer position.

PARISH POSITION AVAILABLE

IMMEDIATELY Saint James Parish is in need of a part-time custodian.

The position would require approximately 15 hours weekly.

Duties would include, but are not limited to: weekly

cleaning of main church and lower classrooms, trash and

recycling, set-up for special activities in the hall, mowing,

edging and trimming of properties, and routine and

emergency maintenance/repairs (must have basic

handyman skills). Please contact Celeste or Father David

for further information. Thank you!

Thanks to two generous parishioners, Saint James Catholic

Church now has votive candles. Each candle holder was

custom made for our parish. It is Catholic tradition to light

a candle before the statue of a saint as a symbol of the

burning love you have for God. After lighting the candle,

you ask that saint to pray for you to God for your

intentions. You can pray something like: "I offer this prayer

for...".

The candle stays lit before the saint as a reminder of your

intention. It's customary to leave a financial offering for the

candle. We now have candles in front of The Blessed

Mother, Saint Joseph and Saint James. Feel free to come in,

and at any time to go up, give a $1 offering, light a candle

and kneel (if you're able) and say a prayer. The candles will

stay lit for 8 hours.

Thank you so much to our beloved benefactors who gave

the crowning jewel to our church renovations.
