ARRANGING BAPTISM Baptism First (Spanish) and Last (English) Sundays each month. Call Parish Center to arrange. Before date is confirmed, parents must have/obtain:
Registration in SJB Parish: Family from another parish must obtain written permission from “home” parish for Baptism at SJB. Certificate of Eligibility to Serve as Sponsor: Each Catholic Sponsor (1 required; 2 preferred) must obtain Certificate of Eligibility from “home” parish. Parishes generally do not issue certificates to persons not already registered nor to persons who left the parish more than 6 months previously.
Letter from Pastor for Christian Witness: One baptized non-Catholic may serve as a Christian Witness and must present Letter of Good Standing from current Christian pastor. A Catholic not eligible to Sponsor may not be Christian Witness.
ARRANGING MARRIAGE
Wedding Planning begins with engaged couple’s meeting a parish priest here at least six (6) months before desired wedding date. Please do not make financial commitments before confirming church date/time.
If a member of the couple was previously married, a Declaration of Nullity (Annulment) of the prior marriage may be necessary. Please contact parish priest for detailed information.
Marriage Convalidation Couples in a civil or non-Catholic religious union without our Church’s explicit permission are not in a valid Catholic marriage. They cannot receive other sacraments or serve as Catholic Sponsors for Baptism and Confirmation. This situation often is easily remedied by “convalidation”, a simple ceremony popularly called “getting a marriage blessed”. Call Parish Center to arrange.

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHOM TO MARRY?
These kids know how to answer this question. Some are really funny and were written and answered by kids. How do you decide whom to marry? "You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the chips and dip coming." Alan, age 10 "No person really decides before they grow up who they're going to marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who you're stuck with." Kirsten, age 10 What is the right age to get married? "Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person FOREVER by then." Camille, age 10 How can a stranger tell if two people are married? "You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same kids." Derrick, age 8 What do you think your mom and dad have in common? "Both don't want any more kids." Lori, age 8 What do most people do on a date? "Dates are for having fun, and people should use them to get to know each other. Even boys have something to say if you listen long enough." Lynnette, age 8 "On the first date, they just tell each other lies, and that usually gets them interested enough to go for a second date." Martin, age 10 When is it okay to kiss someone? "When they're rich." Pam, age 7 "The law says you have to be 18, so I wouldn't want to mess with that." Curt, age 7 "The rule goes like this: If you kiss someone, then you should marry them and have kids with them. It's the right thing to do." Howard, age 8 Is it better to be single or married? "It's better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them." Anita, 9 How would the world be different if people didn't get married? "There sure would be a lot of kids to explain, wouldn't there?" Kevin, age 8 How would you make a marriage work? "Tell your wife that she looks pretty even if she looks like she has been hit by a dump truck." Ricky, age 10

“The music tells the story – the story changes lives!”
THE CROSS AND THE LIGHT is coming to St. John Bosco. Thurs., 3/8:10 AM and 7PM, Fri., 3/9:10 AM & 7 PM, and Sat., 3/10: 1 PM and 7PM! It’s not just a show; it is an intentional encounter event.
Religious inspiration comes in many forms. Kelly Garver Nieto’s hit her like a ton of Babylon bricks while she was
attending her first-ever Good Friday service in 2000. It was while praying the Stations of the Cross, which uses 14 sequential images to depict the crucifixion of Jesus,
that the former nonbeliever experienced what she calls a “life-changing vision.” “I looked at the altar and saw all
the details of this grand theatrical production,” the entertainer and former Miss Michigan remembers. “And I heard God say, ‘This is why you are here.’ I knew in
my soul that this would become my life’s mission.”
Please like The Cross and the Light on Facebook! For more information check out their website

Cast Member…. NANCY INGLES: WOMAN 1 – THE BLESSED MOTHER. Born and raised in Michigan, Nancy moved to NYC where
she started her professional theatre career. She began as the lead singer for Holland
America cruise lines, later joined the national tours of “Jesus Christ Superstar”
and “Shout! The Mod Musical,” and finally was crowned Miss USO in 2008 where she toured nationally
performing for our troops and veterans. She recently moved back to the state she never stopped calling home where she has since joined several local theaters playing Amalia in “She Loves Me,” Emma in “Jekyll and Hyde,”
and Cosette in “Les Miserables.” She is thrilled to join the cast of “The Cross and the Light” where her faith will
be the inspiration behind the music.
