Devotions and Sacramentals Rosary: In the Church—The Spanish Rosary is on Tues-day evenings at 6:30 p.m. The Rosary in English is on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

Eucharistic Adoration: Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel. A sign up sheet is below the statue of Pope Saint John Paul II.

Baptism: All baptisms will take place at Visitation Church the 1st (of a full weekend,) & 3rd Sunday after 9:00 a.m. Mass (except during Lent). Please call the parish office to schedule a time. A free-will donation should be given to the clergy performing the baptism. Additionally, non-members will be charged $50. Bap-tism classes are the 3rd Sunday @ 10:00 a.m. in English and the 4th Sunday @ 8:00 a.m. in Spanish.

Marriage: Contact the Pastor at least 6 to 12 months in advance to schedule a wedding and begin marriage preparations.

Reconciliation: Saturday, from 4:00 p.m.—4:40 p.m. in the Church or call the Parish office for an appointment.

Visitation & Anointing of the Sick: Any person home-bound, hospitalized, in the nursing home or advanced in years may notify the Parish Office to receive the Sacraments: Eucharist, Confession/Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick. Parishioners from the Pastoral Care Ministry would be glad to visit. We also offer Friday Communion Calls to the Homebound. Please call the Parish Office if you or someone you know would like to be visited monthly.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA): Anyone wishing to learn more about the Catholic faith or join-ing our Catholic community may call or email the par-ish office.

Religious Education Kindergarten through 8th grade CCD classes meet on Sunday mornings from September to May, from 10:00 a.m.–11:15 a.m. Children should par-ticipate in all levels of Religious Education classes so that they can receive the Sacraments with their peers. Please arrive through the West doors (back of the school) off the parking lot. Dismissal is on the East side (front of the school) on Lexington Ave. Please call Angie Ryan in the Parish Office if you have any questions or would like to register.

Veteran’s Day Visitation Catholic School is hosting a Veterans Day program on Friday, November 8th. Veterans will be honored at a school mass at Visitation Church at 8:30 am with a reception and program to follow in the school gymnasium at 9:30am. All Veterans are invited to attend. If you would like your veteran’s picture included in our annual slide presentation, please email pictures of relatives that have served or are serving in the military (in their uniform, if possible) to [email protected].

ILMEA District Junior Band

Congratulations to 8th grader, Cooper Bates, for qual-ifying for the ILMEA District II Junior Band. Cooper will head to Augustana College on Saturday, Novem-ber 9th, to perform with the other district qualifiers at a 4:00 p.m. band concert. Great job Cooper!

Halloween Parade We will have our annual Halloween costume parade around the block on Thursday, October 31st, at 1:00 p.m. Please join us!

Chili & Mac n Cheese Cook Off

The Visitation P.A.T. is sponsoring a ‘Chili and Mac n Cheese’ cook off after mass on Saturday, November 2nd. Please join us after mass to try out the different contest entries!

BINGO The next BINGO will be November 6th. Doors open at 4:30pm. BINGO starts at 6:00 p.m. BINGO is held the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month.

Adoration We are in need of someone, or more than one person, who can commit to going to Adoration on Thursday afternoons between 3:00—4:00 p.m. on a weekly basis. We will not call our “regulars” every week to confirm your attendance. And, we understand that you will not be able to go every week, but on those weeks, ask that you call the Parish Office and let us know that you can’t be there. St. Patrick’s On Wednesday, October 23rd, from 11:00 a.m.—1:00 p.m., St. Patrick’s in Sheffield is hosting a Salad Bar Luncheon with a choice of vegetable beef or chicken noodle soup or a barbecue sandwich, for &7.00. There will be a variety of salads to choose from, and also includes ice cream sundaes and a drink. BINGO will begin at 12:30 p.m. Take outs are available.
