Dear brothers and sisters, What to say… the situation is very serious and constantly changing. At the time I am writing this words, Governor Baker just issued ‘stay-at-home advisory’. This are very difficult time for all, especially for all those who are sick, elderly… all those at risk! And also for all those who find themselves suddenly unemployed, with bills piling up and no way to provide for their families. We are very aware of all these difficulties and are close to you, praying for you every day. During this time I am very happy and edified from you, our Parish. As priests, we have made all pos-sible efforts to help, by celebrating Masses on streaming through our YouTube channel, by proving daily reflec-tions on the word of the day, by celebrating together with you the Stations of the Cross, by organizing a 24 hours adoration of the blessed sacrament, both in our Chapel as well as online. And all of this in four lan-guages! Finally, we went a little crazy and organized a drive thru communion service following our online mass-es. It was amazing. We distributed more than 700 hosts, and I am still thankful to God for allowing me to experi-ence your reactions. One of the best comments that I received, was that the Body of Christ was like manna in the desert. I have been thinking about it… It’s true, it’s truly manna for this time of desert, for this time of Lent. But it is also manna for our lives. Yet, so many times we take it for granted and we don’t even realize what a great gift it is to be able to receive communion weekly or even daily. What a great gift it is to be able to confess and receive absolution for our sins, what a great gift it is to be able to go to a Church and find a people, a body, a caravan with which journey on this earth directed toward Heaven. We are discovering how much all this means now, now that we are not able to celebrate as we nor-mally do. It’s when you lose things that you come to the realization of how important they are. So, courage! The Lord is allowing us, during this Lent, to experience a real desert! This is fantastic! It al-lows us to really focus on our priorities, on our relation-ship with the Lord and on our relationship with our neighbor! Let’s not despise this time but instead taking advantage to grow in faith and love, looking forward for the celebration of Easter! God bless you, Father Andrea
Queridos hermanos y hermanas: Qué decir ... la situación es muy grave y cambia constantemente. En el momento en que escribo estas palabras, el gobernador Baker acaba de emitir un "aviso de permanencia en el hogar". Este es un momento muy difícil para todos, especialmente para todos aquellos que están enfermos, ancianos ... ¡todos aquellos en riesgo! Y también para todos aquellos que se encuentran repenti-namente desempleados, con facturas acumuladas y sin forma de mantener a sus familias. Estamos muy cons-cientes de todas estas dificultades y estamos cerca de ti, orando por ti todos los días. Durante este tiempo estoy muy feliz y edificado por parte de ustedes, nuestra parroquia. Como sacerdo-tes, hemos hecho todos los esfuerzos posibles para ayu-dar, celebrando misas en streaming a través de nuestro canal de YouTube, proponiendo reflexiones diarias sobre la palabra del día, celebrando junto a ustedes las Esta-ciones de la Cruz, organizando una adoración de 24 ho-ras del Santísimo Sacramento, tanto en nuestra Capilla como en línea. ¡Y todo esto en cuatro idiomas! Finalmen-te, nos volvimos un poco locos y organizamos un dive thru de comunión siguiendo nuestras misas en línea. Fue increíble. Distribuimos más de 700 hostias, y todavía es-toy agradecido con Dios por permitirme experimentar sus reacciones. Uno de los mejores comentarios que recibí fue que el Cuerpo de Cristo era como el maná en el de-sierto. He estado pensando en eso ... Es cierto, es real-mente maná para esta época del desierto, para esta épo-ca de Cuaresma. Pero también es maná para nuestras vidas. Sin embargo, muchas veces lo damos por sentado y ni siquiera nos damos cuenta del gran regalo que es recibir la comunión semanalmente o incluso a diario. Qué gran regalo es poder confesar y recibir la absolución por nuestros pecados, qué gran regalo es poder ir a una Igle-sia y encontrar un pueblo, un cuerpo, una caravana con la cual el viaje en esta tierra se dirige hacia Cielo. Esta-mos descubriendo cuánto significa todo esto ahora, aho-ra que no podemos celebrar como lo hacemos normal-mente. Es cuando pierdes cosas que te das cuenta de lo importantes que son. Entonces, ¡animo! ¡El Señor nos permite, durante esta Cuaresma, experimentar un verdadero desierto! ¡Esto es fantástico! ¡Nos permite centrarnos realmente en nuestras prioridades, en nuestra relación con el Señor y en nuestra relación con nuestro prójimo! ¡No desprecie-mos este tiempo, sino que aprovechemos para crecer en fe y amor, esperando la celebración de la Pascua! Brothers and sister, the Cardinal has just sent us new instructions due to the new rules that came out today. Saint Joseph's Chapel will be closed, and the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is suspended. For now, all activities that require leaving the house are suspended.
We are going to start the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on our YouTube channel from 12pm to 7pm, from Monday to Friday.
We invite you, at this time, not to forget to pray in families, to pray with your children. MARCH 29 ~ THE FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT We’re almost at the end – today’s readings give us such hope. Ezekiel gives us God’s promise: “I will put my spirit in you that you may live, … I have promised, and I will do it, says the LORD.” Jesus gives us His assurance of ever-lasting life: “whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.” If your Lent has been less than you hoped for, try adding a few minutes each day to think about the everlasting life we are promised. Remember, God’s spirit is in YOU.
29 DE MARZO ~ QUINTA SEMANA DE CUARESMA Estamos casi al final, las lecturas de hoy nos dan mucha esperanza. Ezequiel nos da una promesa de parte de Di-os: “Os infundiré mi espíritu, y viviréis…yo, el Señor, lo digo y lo hago.» Oráculo del Señor”. Jesus nos da la es-peranza de vida eterna, “el que cree en mí, aunque haya muerto, vivirá; y el que está vivo y cree en mí, no morirá para siempre”. Si tu Cuaresma ha sido menos de lo que esperabas, trata de agregar unos minutos cada día para pensar en la vida eterna que nos ha sido prometida. Recuerda que el Espiritu de Dios esta en ti.
