RETREATS !2019 Summer Di-
Week Long Retreat: June 20- 27, 2019
A directed retreat is a personally guided prayer experience in which the retreatant listens for God's personal word spoken through the Sacred Scriptures. Each re- treatant is assigned a director with whom the retreatant meets daily for reflection and spiritual discernment. Retreatants may re- quest specific directors, although it may not be possible to comply with these requests. SILENCE, both interior, and exterior is a nec- essary condition for the efficacy of a di- rected retreat. Directed Retreats at Our Lady of Calvary are open to both men and women. There will be daily Mass. There will be an opportunity to celebrate the Sacra- ment of Reconciliation.

Beauty June 20-24, 2019
Our spiritual path to God may begin with our attraction
to beauty. The more we are aware of the beauty around
and inside of us, the more beauty we project toward
others. Beauty that flows from our hearts, reminds us of
the source from which it comes: God.
Come spend time looking for what is beautiful. Inten-
tionally take time to focus on those things that lift you
up and help you to feel closer to your God, the One who
sends beauty to refresh, nurture, and sustain you, the
One who invites you into beauty's Immortal Heart.

June is “Leave a Legacy” month in the Diocese of Norwich. It is a wonderful time to remind parishioners in the Diocese about the value of charitable estate planning. Some people choose to mark their legacy by requesting gifts made in memoriam to their parish, school, ministry or the Diocese in lieu of flowers upon their passing. Others include a bequest in their Will to their favorite Catholic organization. Still others are interested in establishing an endowment with the Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of Norwich to benefit a Diocesan organization. Most recently, endowments within the Catholic Foundation were established by 1. Maria and Edward Hargus, in honor of Deacon Phil and Linda Hayes; 2. the Roach Family and 3. Monsignor Archambault, in memory of his brother, Rev. Richard Archambault. If f you are interested in learning more about how you can leave your legacy and support all the good works that the Church is involved with, please contact Mary Ellen Mahoney, Executive Director of Development , at (860) 886-1928 or [email protected] .
