PRAYER SHAWLS

Once a month our Parish Shawl Ministry meets

and makes beautiful shawls which can bring

not only lots of warmth but comfort as well. All

shawls have been blessed and are available for

anyone who is sick, terminally ill or depressed.

Please do not hesitate to ask for one for some-

one you love or even yourself. There is no

charge, all you need to do is ask by contacting

the parish office @ 508-859-8083 or Linda

Corby @ 508-892-2988. Shawls can also be

found under or around the Holy Oils near the

baptismal fonts to take if someone is in need of

one right away. (The prayer is included with

each shawl)

Our Prayer Shawl Ministry meets on the

last Thursday of every month and all those

interested to join this wonderfully spiritual

ministry are welcome. Our next meeting

will resume back on Thursday, January

30th @7:00pm in the Mother St. John House

PLEASE REMEMBER IN PRAYER

Our sick, homebound and shut-ins, our military men and women

and those who have asked for our prayers especially for Mat-

thew Cox , Daniel & Gail Bergin, Billy Austin, William &

Carolyn Hisoire, Ronnie & Christine Sutton, Paulette Wood,

Linda Corby, & Rose Stachelek

if you have any prayer requests please contact the parish office

at 508-859-8083

Hello to all members of our parishes,

We will soon be joining our two parishes into one. This will

involve a change that will be great for some and less for

others. Change is a very difficult problem for us as human

beings. We live in a world that changes enormously from

day to day, minute to minute and second to second, but we

want to be secure and safe in this world and so we are con-

stantly attempting to construct something that will not ever

be changed. It is an impossible task in this world to make

anything that will not suffer from the decay of time and

change. Even this very earth on which we walk and depend

will one day surrender to change. Our knowing that change

is difficult does not make it any easier to accept it. It can

make us think so, but that is all it can do; make us think we

have accepted it.

No, accepting change is what we now call a process. It

seems to me that every change I have ever experienced in

my life is relived with each new change that comes up in

my world today. I guess you could say that I have never

really accepted change very well and now I must “lead” you

through a difficult change. I don’t really know how to do

this, but much of what I do today I did not know how to do

before I did it the first few times. I am sure that I have al-

ready made mistakes at this and that I will make more in the

next several days, months and years. I hope and pray that

you will be merciful to me when I do make them. As we

begin to live with this new change, I am not sure that we

need to be reminded each time that we go to church, read

our bulletin cover, receive a letter from the parish or place

our offertory contribution in our envelope that we have

changed. With this in mind the parish council recommended

and the Diocese accepted that our new parish be named

“Saint Joseph-Saint Pius X Parish”. I believe that this is a

good thing and that it will make this difficult time in our

parish slightly less difficult. I hope so. I also hope that you

do too.

Peace and God Bless

Fr. Rob

Luncheon

We encourage everyone to join us for food, prayer, & friendship as we take the next step towards reunification of our parishes on November 23, 2014 following the 11:15am Mass in St. Joseph’s Hall..Please RSVP no later than Nov. 16th so that we can plan on food...by contacting the parish office at 508-859-8083 . There will also be sign up sheets available in the back of the church after all masses There is no cost for the lunch, but please feel free to bring a beverage or dessert.

The Renovations to the Mother St. John House for Fr. Rob’s new residence are well under way. To date, the parish has incurred absolutely no debt, thanks entirely to the generosity of three of our pa-rishioners who have donated their time, services, and all the materials needed for this project. There are many generous people in our parishes who would like to help in some way as well. The last big project to complete is the installation of new car-peting in the residence area as well as the stair-way /hall & baseboard heating. If you are able to contribute to this , your cash donation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to all!

Soon we will be one parish and we are in the process of forming

a social/fundraiser committee. This will give all the parishioners

an opportunity to come together socially and or raise funds to

support the financial needs of the parish.. If interested, please

contact Aurore McGrail at 508-751-2252– All are Welcome!

We are also looking for those who would be interested in other

ministries of the parish which include the Haiti ministry, Shaw

ministry, Bereavement ministry, in addition to Lectors, Eucharis-

tic Ministers, Altar Servers, Ushers /Greeters, Food pantry &
