RULES OF FASTING AND ABSTINENCE Good Friday is a day of fasting, eating only one full meal. Two smaller meals may be taken which do not equal the full meal. No food may be taken between meals. Eve-ryone between the ages of 18 and 59 are bound to the fasting obligation. No meat is allowed on Good Friday.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS 8th Grade Students

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Christian Service Project (Service Hours) forms were due April 7th. Please make sure they are handed into the office.

Easter Break No Religious Education Classes April 10th- April 20th for Holy Week and Easter Week. Classes will resume on Monday, April 24th. We pray that all of our families have a Blessed Holy Week and a Joyful Easter!

Family Catechesis Passport to Easter – will be wrapping up at the end of Holy Week. I hope to see many families at Holy Week Masses, Live Stations of the Cross and Morning Prayers. Each student is required to do at least 6 activities with their family. Complet-ed and stamped Passports are due when we return from East-er break, April 24th-27th (Passports should be handed in to their catechist).

Live Stations if the Cross +TLC+ will be doing Live Stations of the Cross on Friday, April 14th, at 3 pm; I encourage all families to attend if possi-ble; it is a beautiful Journey of the Lord’s Passion.

Re-Registration Re-registration for current families, for the 2017-2018 school year is now in progress. Information regarding regis-tration can be found at saintkateriparish.com. Registration for “new families” will begin on April 25th. Registration for “new families” will start on April 24th.

PILGRIM VISITS TO SEVEN CHURCHES IN DUTCHESS Pilgrim pamphlet guides are in the Narthex to participate in 'visiting seven Catholic churches' on Maundy (Holy) Thurs-day, April 13th, after Mass. The Mass time, location of Altar of Repose, and closing time are listed, including Pope Francis' April intentions, and suggested verses to pray at each stop.

TEENS NEEDED FOR LIVING STATIONS Would you like to help the parish pray while also having a bit of fun? We are looking for 20 teens to fill the roles for the Living Stations. Come Sunday, April 9th at 6:30 pm, and pick a character to participate in our first practice! The second prac-tice is Tuesday, April 11th at 9:30 am followed by pizza lunch (and an optional trip to NYC for the Chrism Mass and dinner, $20). The final practice is Friday, Apr 14th, at 1pm followed by the live event. Bring a friend !

PONTIFICAL GOOD FRIDAY COLLECTION This collection will assist the Holy Land Mission, enabling the Franciscan Fathers, to continue the maintenance of, and service to, the sacred shrines.

TRI-PARISH RESPECT LIFE LENTEN ACTIVITY The Students for Life initiated a 2-step campaign to make sure our government defunds Planned Parenthood, with over 300,000 abortions annually. OPPOSE DOCTOR-ASSISTED SUICIDE Please let your Senate and Assembly representatives know that you strongly oppose the proposal to legalize doctor-assisted suicide for the terminally ill. Urge them to vote "no", should the bill come before them for a vote. The Catholic Conference seeks to maintain New York State's current prohibition on assisted suicide while ensuring support, resources, hospice care, appropriate pain relief and treatment for the terminally ill. SEPARATED AND DIVORCED SUPPORT GROUP A Separated and Divorced Support Group will be held on Wednesday, April 19th from 7-8:30 pm at Mt. Alvernia, 158 Delavergne Avenue, Wappingers Falls. Our purpose is to bring hope and healing to those who have gone through di-vorce years ago, and to those currently going through sepa-ration or divorce. We provide a safe and confidential environ-ment, friendship, fellowship and an opportunity for individu-als to "grow" through their experience.
