THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS-Monsignor Bouchet is a 4th

Degree Assembly whose primary purpose is to foster the spirit of

patriotism and to encourage active Catholic citizenship and to

educate its members, and others, both in the teachings of our

Holy Mother Church, and in the history of our nation. To that

end, our Assembly is offering a $1300 scholarship that is open to

all students enrolled in a Catholic High School. Parents must be

members of the following Monsignor Bouchet Assembly

parishes: All Saints (Taylorsville), Ft. Francis Xavier (Mt.

Washington), St. Edward, Ascension, St. Bernadette, St. Martin

of Tours, St. Brigid, St. James, St. Rita, St. Luke, St. Athanasius,

John Paul II. Students must submit an 800-1200 word essay

discussing an event, person, philosophy, or ideal associated with

the American Revolution, the Declaration of Independence, or

the framing of the U.S. Constitution. Essays will be judged on

historical accuracy, clarity of thought, organization and proven

topic, grammar and spelling, and documentation. Essays must be

postmarked no later than June 30, and should be mailed to:

TIME TO START THINKING ABOUT THE SUMMER

PICNIC: Sheila Harris has agreed to be the Chairperson again

this year. We will be doing the Silent Auction again. We will

need donations for this and also donations of bottled water. Start

thinking about ways you can help to make this picnic a huge

success. If you have any questions, ideas, or suggestions, please

call the office at 969-3291. (Leave a message)

Our annual WaterStep Campaign is under way. This is a great

way we can share what we have with those less fortunate. The

shoes will be sent to the WaterStep Facility where they will be

sold to exporters and delivered to people in poverty stricken

countries. The money WaterStep gets from exporters is used for

mission trips to build wells and water filtering equipment for

those in need. All baby shoes will be donated to Little Way and

other pregnancy centers to serve our community as well.

St. Luke Men’s Club is looking for new members. Come join

them on the 3rd Friday of every month for food, fun, fellowship.

Call Kenny Schlesinger for more information at 807-9301.
