Funeral Masses were offered recently for Helen L. Boyle, Alice Vigneau,

and Samuel Sapira. Please remember them and their families

in your prayers. Thank you.

With deep joy and gratitude, I extend to you my prayerful best wishes for a holy and blessed Christmas. During these past weeks of Advent, it has been my prayer that each of you would find opportunities to reflect on

your own faith and relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and His Church. Whatever it is that our hearts and souls long for, whether we realize it or not, our ultimate desire is Jesus Himself. For this reason, we are filled with joy and consolation at Christmas to know that all that we hoped for has been fulfilled in the person of the Christ Child. I once received a Christmas card with the message: “This Christmas, I wish you Jesus.” On the inside of the card it read: “Isn’t nice to have everything!” In the midst of all our current challenges and concerns, the love of God the Father is made manifest to us in the wonderful gift of His Son, Jesus. With the angels in Bethlehem, our faith moves us to sing: “Glory to God in the highest and peace to His people on earth!” We recognize that true peace on earth flows from our recognition and praise of God in our lives. Christmas has a way of bringing to Church individuals and families who, for various reasons, have not been to Mass or the Sacraments for months or years. What a wonderful and grace-filled opportunity to put aside past differences and old habits and begin anew that prayerful relationship with the Lord and His Church community. I extend to all of you an open, grateful heart of welcome. Together, may we grow in strength and grace to know and celebrate together God’s presence in our lives and His dominion over all things of this world. May our Lord Jesus Christ, born in Bethlehem, bless you, your families and loved ones at this blessed time of hope and grace. May Mary, the Mother of the Child Jesus and our Mother, watch over you and all within our parish community. May Christ abide in your hearts now and always! Along with Father Yoon, Father Conroy, and the entire staff of St. Margaret Parish, I wish you a “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!” God bless!

Father Frank Silva

LOW GLUTEN-HOSTS AVAILABLE St. Margaret’s Parish maintains a supply of low-gluten communion wafers for those who have an intolerance for wheat. Those desiring to receive a low-gluten host at communion should make arrangements to do so before Mass by visiting the sacristy and informing the priest celebrant of the Mass, deacon, or a Minister of Holy Communion.

BRINGING OTHERS TO THE FAITH The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a process for those interested in learning about the Catholic faith and, at the same time, discovering where God is present in their lives. The process is designed for adults who are: unbaptized; baptized in another Christian tradition; or, baptized Catholic but have not received the Sacraments of Eucharist and/or Confirmation. If you know someone who is interested in becoming a Catholic or completing the Sacraments of Initiation in the Church, please have them contact Father Silva or Father Jiwon at the Parish Office (781-272-3111).

GREECE: In the Footsteps of St. Paul Looking for an exciting place to visit in 2017? Consider joining our pastor, Father Frank Silva, as he leads a trip to Greece following in the footsteps of St. Paul. Retrace

the missionary journey of Paul, writer of the New Testament letters. Travel through ancient cities and pastoral landscapes. Enjoy a 3-night cruise of the magical Greek Islands of Mykonos, Patmos and Santorini. Visit the ancient Roman city of Ephesus, Turkey. Discover archaeological treasures like the Acropolis in Athens and seek ancient wisdom at the ruins of Delphi. Explore the biblical town of Corinth where Paul was brought before the tribunal. Stop in Philippi where Paul delivered his first sermon in Europe. Even see the dungeon where he was held prisoner. Find inspiration throughout as you visit the places where the great apostle lived and preached. The trip takes place September 6-16, 2017. Brochures about the trip will be found in the information rack at the main entrance to the church or by calling the parish office (781-272-3111). All are welcome to a Special Travel Presentation about the trip to Greece to be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the conference room of St. Margaret’s Rectory.
