Skip Bob At the Annual Parish Meeting, December 9, St. MM elected Skip Ragland, and Bob Rinaldi to a three year term as vestry members, replacing Peggy Loomis, and Jackie Wells. We heartily thank Peggy and Jackie for their service to our parish. Father Fred Thompson was our Celebrant/Preacher on December 30. We helped him celebrate his 90 th birthday. Happy Birthday, Fr. Fred. JANUARY CALENDAR Every Tuesday Morning – Healing & Intercessory Prayer, 11:00 a.m. Crafty Monday, - Jan. 7, 10:00 a.m. (First Monday of each month) resuming after break for the holidays. Jan. 12 and Jan. 19 - Men’s Breakfast Meeting (beginning a new program by Max Lacado) Jan. 23 --Vestry Meeting, 3:00 p.m. – (Third Wednesday of each Month) - All Are Welcome! Jan. 24 – Movie/pizza night, 4:30 p.m. Jan. 27– Articles for February Newsletter are due. See Phyllis Olson. Crafty Monday will resume Monday, January 7, 10:00 am. We are running very low on prayer shawls and cards to send to people on the prayer list. Please join us, and bring the project you are working on, or supplies to work on either a shawl or cards. If you wish to just come and join us, we will have extra cards and colored pencils for you coloring pleasure. Bring YOUR ideas about what we should work on throughout 2019! We can go to lunch locally following the meeting, if you wish.
Movie/Pizza Night will resume Thursday, January 24, at 4:30 pm. The movie is, “A Quiet Man” starring John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara. This movie is ranked number six out of the best one hundred John Wayne films! It was filmed in Cong, Ireland. We will enjoy pizza from Seven Lakes Pizza during “intermission.” Soda and water will be provided. Please bring money to contribute toward the pizza. Films being considered for the rest of the year include Schindler’s List (2019 is the 25th anniversary for this film), and The Fugitive (the
train wreck is still visible in Carolina's Smoky Mountains and this is the last film using a real train for a train wreck sequence!) Please join us and bring your suggestions for the rest of the year!
