Please join us at St Mary & Patrick’s Grotto, 502 West Mt Pleasant St, West Burlington to pray the Rosary on Saturday, October 13th beginning at 11:30 am. This is the 101th Anniversary of the miracle of the sun. On October 13, 1917 Our Lady performed a miracle witnessed by 70,000 people. We hope the Public Square Rosary Rally will remind everyone that conversion is possible. October is designated as the month of the rosary. St. Mary’s rosary makers along with St. Alphonsus gave away 8560 rosaries in 2017 and 5640 so far this year. Thanks to all those who have helped with this ministry. If you wish to help make rosaries the group meets on the last Monday of the month in the Ossenbrink Center.
2018/19 Confirmation Classes The first class for the Four-Parish Public School Confirmation students will be held on Wednesday, October 17th. They will begin with Mass at 7 p.m. at St. James in St. Paul. Questions, please contact Mike Linnenbrink @ 319/316-2115.
Please join us on Wednesday, October 17th at 5:30 pm, at McAleer hall in Fort Madison to hear Anthony Dimann. Anthony is a husband and father of a young family and is a Catholic speaker, author and educator. He received his MA in theology and has appeared internationally on Catholic television and radio. His presentation will be: Why God ? Why Christian? Why Catholic? The evening is sponsored by the Keokuk Deanery. Please make plans for this very informative night.
Children’s liturgy is moving to Sunday nights at 5:30 pm. Sunday night Masses are in West Point the second and fourth Sunday of the month. Bring your children ages 3-10 to the Ossenbrink Center before Mass to experience the Bible through readings and activities at their own level. The new time will start on Sunday, October 14th. This is a great way to help your children build their faith and keep them excited about learning of God’s love.

Pictured are St. Mary’s 6th and 7th grade Religious Ed students and their teacher Patty Knight making host. The students rolled out the bread and cooked it in the host maker. After the bread was done, they used an old press to form the host. This was a opportunity for a hands on experience.
As the sun rose in the September sky, an important wall was placed at the new Holy Trinity Catholic Elementary building. This exterior wall has a special yet simple cross etched into the structure. This cross is a true symbol of our shared
commitment to the Catholic faith in education. It was a wonderful morning to recognize that God is present in our school, and how blessed we are.
