FEBRUARY 13 – WEDDING AT CANA II We are inviting and asking you to spread the word to couples
that the Second Wedding of Cana is taking place this February.
Last year, we had a beautiful evening when seven couples had
their unions blessed by God in the Church at St. Mary’s. They
didn’t have to make endless plans. They didn’t have to go into
debt and spend thousands of dollars. We want to make the
sacrament available to all. Please let your siblings, children,
grandchildren, friends and co-workers know that it is possible for
them to get married in Church without being stressed out. For
more information, please contact the rectory and speak to one of
the priests.
MAGNIFICAT BOOKLETS – YEAR OF MERCY At Advent and Lent, the parish provides MAGNIFICAT
booklets for prayer and reflection. MAGNIFICAT has produced
a small book for the whole Year of Mercy. It is called the YEAR
OF MERCY COMPANION. The booklet is designed to help you
live the mystery of Mercy everyday. We encourage everyone to
go to www.magnificat.com or call 1-970-416-6670 to purchase
the booklet. It is also a great idea for Christmas and birthday
presents. The price of the book is $8.00 per copy. If there are any
parishioners who would like to make a donation that would go
towards purchasing the booklets for those who cannot afford
them please contact the rectory.
For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him
may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day.”

My brothers and sisters in Christ, The After School Program at Saint Mary’s has begun its fourth
year. This year the children are studying and practicing the
Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy. The focus on the works
of mercy is done so that the children may enter fully into the
Year of Mercy called by Pope Francis. The year of Mercy starts
on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception – December 8, 2015.
This also happens to be our parish feast day. Last week the
children performed their first corporal work of mercy as a group.
After listening to the parable of the sheep and the goats in the
Gospel of Matthew 25, they discussed when they have
encountered people in Waltham who have been hungry. A
number of them mentioned how people had begged their parents
for money in different locations. Then we went out into the
garden and harvested what had been planted earlier in the year.
They gathered the last tomatoes, tomatillos, eggplants, and
radishes of the season. The next day the high school volunteers
washed the vegetables. Later that day, the children presented the
food as part of the procession of the gifts of bread and wine at
their Thursday afternoon Mass. Later on, the huge basket of
vegetables was presented to the Community Day Shelter over on
Felton Street which gives homeless people a place to rest and eat
during the day. They were very happy to receive the gift from the
children and said that it would be used in the next big stew that
was made for the guests of the shelter. Jesus said, I was hungry
and you gave me food. Let us pray that the children are
rewarded for this work of mercy when it comes time… and may
they devote all their works to Mercy… for this is how God
becomes present and how the world changes. – Father Michael
THANK YOU-SEMI-ANNUAL Many thanks to everyone who has contributed to the Semi-Annual Appeal. So far, we have received a very good response.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus asks Bartimaeus: “What do you
want me to do for you?” And he answers, “Master, I want to
see.”
Let us ask Jesus for the grace to “see” our brothers and sisters
who are poor and lonely. With your help, St. Vincent de Paul
members bring the love and care of Jesus to the poor and lonely
when we see and assist families… providing food and helping
with utility and rent bills, etc. Thank You!
For the sick and the poor who wait for healing, Lord, hear our
prayer. For the grace to persevere in prayer and trust in God,
Lord, hear our prayer. Amen.
WINTER COAT DRIVE Cold weather is here! Please bring your gently used, but clean,
winter coats for women, men and children to church next
weekend. Please leave them in the back of the church where
members of the St Vincent de Paul Society will pick them up for

SAINT CHARLES PARISH
My brothers and sisters in Christ, Wednesday, November 4th is the feast day of our patron,

reception are still being worked out. They will be announced
next week. PLEASE SAVE THE DATE. Invite your friends or
old time parishioners who you have not seen lately. If we want
Saint Charles to intercede with us in heaven then we better make
sure we honor him. – Father Michael

(a) buen (a) esposo (a). Dios los bendiga. – P. Agustin

¡Mil gracias!
