PARISH STAFF
A warm welcome is extended to all who come to St. Mary’s-Stony Hill to join together in this community of worship and praise to Almighty God. We are grateful to our faithful parishioners and welcome our neighbors and guests who visit us occasionally. We want you to know that you are always welcome! All parishioners should be registered with the parish office. Please notify the parish if you change your address or move out of the parish. Certificates of eligibility to sponsor at Baptism or Confirmation will be given only to registered parishioners who are active and practicing Catholics.
We offer religious education for children of registered parishioners, who attend public school grades Pre-K thru 8. In addition, preparation for the Sacraments of First Penance, First Holy Communion and Confirmation is also provided for students who attend Catholic schools. Please check our website or contact the Office of Religious Education for information.
Due to privacy laws, we are no longer notified when parishioners are admitted to local hospitals. We are happy to visit sick or homebound parishioners when requested by family members. Please call the parish office to make arrangements. Emergency sick calls can be made at anytime by calling the parish office and selecting “9”. Please only use this option for genuine emergencies requiring a priest.
Baptism: 2ND & 4TH SUNDAY: 12:15 pm—Arrangements must be made through the parish office at least one month in advance. Parents must be registered parishioners; sponsors must be practicing Catholics in good standing. If sponsors are from other parishes, a letter of good standing from their pastor is required. Reconciliation: SATURDAY: 3:00-3:45 pm. Also by appointment. Confessional in the Narthex. Marriage: Please contact the parish office for an appointment at least one year in advance of the planned wedding date. You may pick up pans & recipes in the narthex of the church after all Masses on the last weekend of each month. Thank you for your continued support of this important program.
2017-18 Religious Education Registration It’s time to register your children for next year’s Religious Education Program! All the details can be found under the “Faith Formation” tab or “Important Links” tab. If you have any difficulty with the online registration process, please phone the parish office at 908-756-6524 ext. 10. Thank you!

Stewardship Reflection
“Did not our hearts burn within us while He talked to us on the road, while He opened to us the scriptures?” Lk. 24:32 How often do we take the time to discern what Jesus wants from us? Are our prayers always petitions, asking Jesus to do things for us? If so, that’s a one-sided relationship. Living our faith means developing a personal relationship with Jesus. Just like any friendship, there is give and take, each side listening to each other and helping each other out. Take time in silence to listen to what Jesus is asking of you.
Immaculate Conception School
Open House - May 7, May 9 & May 23 Rooted in Catholic values, Immaculate Conception School integrates an academic excellence with the spiritual and moral formation of each of its students. Through the support of Immaculate Heart of Mary Sisters, dedicated teachers, and committed parents, the result is an education that challenges each student to develop his/her full potential in an atmosphere where children care for and respect one another. ICS is a Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8 School with half-day and full day options for Pre-K and a full-day program for Kindergarten. Please visit the school website at www.icsschool.org or call with any questions at 908-725-6516. We hope to see you soon! God’s blessings to you and your family.
Mount St. Mary House of Prayer
The following programs are offered. Registration is required; call 908-753-2091 or email [email protected] Living As a Mature Disciple: Through input and prayer we will look at what matters most to us and how we can move toward the stage of freedom. Tue, May 9, 7-9 pm ($20-$30 As You Are Able). Presenter: Laura M. Arvin, OP Prayer in Motion: Practice some breathing techniques, yoga poses & meditation to bring prayerful intention and a healthy balance to your life! Wed, May 10, 7-8:30 pm ($20-$30 As You Are Able). Facilitator: Isabel Gachko
National Day of Prayer: Thursday, May 4th
The annual National Day of Prayer was signed into law by President Harry S. Truman in 1952. All are invited to attend the Somerset County observance of this day at the Somerset County Courthouse steps in Somerville
from 6:30-7:30 pm (7-8 pm at the Somerville YMCA if it rains). This is an opportunity for Christians from all over Somerset County to worship and pray together for our government, our nation and its leaders, our homes, communities, youth and our institutions. As a community service, we will be collecting food for SHIP. An offering will also be collected for the Empower Family Success Center (Somerville), and to defray the costs of the event. For more information, contact Rev. Tim Wolf, 908-281-9535.

Sharing the Gospel Imagine Jesus is at your home. He sits at the dinner table with your whole family. He breaks bread with you. He fills each cup with a drink. He plays with you and helps you with your homework. He tells you that he loves you. You thank him for the food and ask him to bless your family. After he does, Jesus says, "I've got to go now, but I'll remain in your heart forever."
