SHARING THE BREAD OF LIFE!
The Feast of Corpus Christi
The Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, also known as the Feast of Corpus Christi is such an important and beautiful celebration, because it provides a wonderful opportunity for us to share the pinnacle of our faith with the world. And, there are many ways everyone can help to make our celebration here at Saint Matthew Parish a truly joyful and spiritual celebration. This year, Corpus Christi falls on the weekend of June 3rd.
Since we will also be celebrating with those receiving First Holy Communion on June 2nd and 3rd, we invite all the members of the FHC class to join us for the procession after the 10:30 AM Mass - dressed in all their finery for the occasion. Each member of the class will receive a candle to carry in procession.
We are still looking for lay ministry members and families or individuals to help out by sponsoring and decorating an altar station. Sign ups are at the Narthex desk, where you can pick up an instruction sheet for decorating your altar. Sponsors are encouraged to be creative, and may also participate by contributing a song or prayer at their station.
This year we will be hosting a bread drive. What better way to honor our Lord who gives us his body and blood each week than to share with those in need? Everyone is invited to bring loaves of bread to donate. As our Father lavishes us with bread from heaven, so may we be generous in sharing with our community. Donated loaves may be used to decorate the altars, or you may place your loaves in the spe-cially decorated “bread wagon” to donate your loaves. At the end of the procession all bread will be gathered and given to a local charity.
No matter how you choose to participate, be sure to join us for the procession after the 10:30 AM Mass on June 3rd and help us to share the Bread of Life!
A Week of Celebrations
The feast of a Parishes’ patron saint is such an important day, that when it falls on the weekend, it becomes a solemnity in that parish! This year, to celebrate our patronal feast day, we will begin our celebration with Fr. Ruse joining us for the 10:30 Mass on Sunday Sept. 16th then make a pilgrimage to the Diocesan Cathedral of Saint James in Orlando. After Morning Mass on Friday,
September 21, (save the date!) we will travel by bus to the cathedral, where we will be able to go to con-fession and attend midday Mass. Lunch will be provided at the Cathe-dral, and then we will have the op-portunity to tour both the cathedral and the chancery – our diocesan headquarters if you will. There will be a fee of $20.00 per person to cov-er the cost of the bus and lunch. Watch for further information on when and how to sign up for this special trip. We will conclude the Celebration of our Feast Day on Sunday Sept. 23 with Bishop Noonan joining for the Sacrament of Confirmation at our 5:00 p.m. Mass.

We are preparing for repairs of the roof at our Thrift Shop and the flat roofs of the Church. Testing is still being done on the metal roof of the Church to find where the leaks originate. Cost of the flat roofs of the Church will be $307,800. The Thrift Shop roof will cost: $115,560

YOU
This summer we are continuing our Wednesday Joy & Devotion nights and we will be do-ing the Theology of the Body program named “YOU” By Ascension. In an age of “selfies”
and egocentrism, YOU cuts through the noise to present an authentic view of the human person. It presents young people with the extraordinary story of their creation as unrepeata-ble individuals. But the program doesn’t stop there. YOU: Life, Love, and the Theology of the Body introduces teens to the truth that life is not, in fact, all about them; it is about go-ing out of themselves to be a sincere gift for others. Join us on Wednesdays from 6pm-8pm starting May 30th, bring a friend!
Youth Night! Attention all Middle & High Schoolers! We’d like to invite you all to come join us for some food, games, and fellowship on Thursday, May 31st at 6PM-8PM in the Parish Cen-ter. If you haven’t gone to a youth night with us yet, don’t be afraid! It’s all fun and games… and a whole lot of Jesus! So bring a friend and be ready for an awesome night. If you’d like to have more information about this please feel free to e-mail Adrienne at [email protected] or call at 863.324.3040 EXT. 13
As our Community continues to grow, to renew and to build, here is a wonderful oppor-tunity to get to know one another better as we have “been called by name” into the body of Christ. Please join in this effort to reach out to one another, to call one another by name.
As a parish, we are offering each member a nametag to wear to all parish functions. There is no charge for the name tag. All we ask is that if you choose to receive one that you wear it when you come to Church. They are also being offered to our registered Winter Residents. If you would like to receive one you can go to our parish website and click on the link to order one or stop by the information desk in the Narthex and fill out the Nametag Order Card.

Ông Bà Anh Chị Em quý mến trong Chúa Ba Ngôi, Mỗi lần đọc kinh, chúng ta đều làm dấu tuyên xưng
Chúa Ba Ngôi: “Nhân danh Cha và Con và Thánh Thần. Amen.”
Ngày mai là Ngày Chiến Sĩ Trận Vong (Memorial Day). Requiem in Pacem!
Cha Giuse Bùi Dũng.

PLEASE SUPPORT OUR ADVERTISERS WHO PAY FOR OUR BULLETIN
Amen.
