At the heart of our faith is the Paschal Mystery:
the Passion, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension of
Jesus Christ. All of salvation history leads up to and
goes forth from these saving events. Plan to attend
some or all of the special liturgies of Palm Sunday,
Holy Thursday, and Good Friday and Saturday at
Saint Matthias. You can refer to the schedule for the
special liturgies for Holy Week & Easter in this
bulletin. By celebrating them in community, we make
them present today and learn again, in a new way, the
reality of our Risen Lord alive in our midst.
A Memorial Mass for William Kelly,
son of Deacon & Mrs. Gerry Kelly will be offered on Saturday,
April 27, 2019 at 10:30 AM.
A number of parishioners have reported receiving fake emails and texts claiming to be from the parish or one of the priests.
Apparently, this has become a problem at several parishes. If you receive a suspicious communication, do not respond. If needed you can always call the rectory to confirm the authenticity of anything claiming to be from the parish.

Renovation Fund
Thanks to all who have contributed to the fund to help pay for the renovation of our former convent into our new Parish Center. So far we have received approximately $300,000 in pledges and one time gifts. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Contributions are still most welcome. Information can be found at the doors of the church. We have plans for a plaque in the new Parish Center acknowledging those who have contributed $1000 or more to the Renovation Fund.
Special thanks are also offered to the members of the Renovation Fund Committee for their dedication and work.
The renovations are scheduled to begin in just a few weeks. They should be completed by the end of the Summer. We look forward to a dedication and grand opening in the Fall.

The Bishops of the United States prescribe, as a
minimal obligation, that all persons who are fourteen
years of age and older are bound to abstain from
eating meat on Ash Wednesday, all the Fridays of
Lent, and Good Friday. Further, all persons eighteen
years of age and older, up to and including their fifty-
ninth birthday, are bound to fast by limiting
themselves to a single full meal on Ash Wednesday
and on Good Friday, while the other two meals on
those days are to be light.
Gifts made to the Catholic Charities Appeal will provide support needed to tens of thousands of people through countless organizations, programs, and ministries throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The beneficiaries are grouped into 5 key areas: Education; Social Services; Evangelization, Parish and Spiritual Life; Clergy; and Local Mission Activities. The overall goal this year is $12.5 million. Our parish goal remains the same as last year $50, 536. As of April 4th, 52 parishioners have donated a total of $12,561 or 25% of our goal. Please be generous!

MINISTRY OF MOTHERS (MOM)
The Ministry of Mothers (MOM) group seeks to develop our faith and deepen our relationship with God while getting to know and support each other in the everyday joys and challenges of raising Catholic children. The MOM group started on February 6th, and meets every other week on Wednesdays from 9 AM to 10:15 AM in the Antioch Annex at St. Margaret's for coffee, conversation and camaraderie! It's also a good time to check out the Catholic Relief Services' self-guided meditation, "One on the Journey: A Solidarity Prayer Walk." All parents and guardians — regardless of religious affiliation — are invited. Children of all ages are welcomed! May is the month of Mary. Since she is our group’s patroness, the MOM group will focus on getting to know her better this month through her different titles.
Our remaining meetings this school year are:
May 1 – Mary: Mother of God, Immaculate Conception, Our Lady of Lourdes
May 15 – The Rosary (We will pray the Rosary together)
May 29 – Mary: Our Lady of Guadalupe, Fatima and Czestochowa
June 12 – TBD: Last gathering before summer break
Feel free to invite others! As always, there will be toys for the kids, and snacks for all!
