Ordination and Installation of Bishop-Elect DeGrood
Bishop-elect DeGrood will be ordained and installed as Bishop of Sioux Falls at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 13th at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Due to limited space in the Cathedral, the ordination will be a ticketed event. The general public, however, is welcome to the Sioux Falls Convention Center (1201 N West Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD) where the ordination will be live-streamed. Fol-lowing the ordination, Bishop DeGrood will then come to the Sioux Falls Conven-tion Center for a reception and to greet all those in attendance.
For those who are unable to travel to Sioux Falls on February 13th, we will also be live streaming the Mass of Ordination here at Church of Saint Peter in St. Peter’s Hall on the large screen. The doors will open at 1:30 pm and refreshments will be available. Please join us if you can.
Also, because of the limited space in the Cathedral in Sioux Falls, the distance, and the unpredictability of weather in February, the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis will host a Mass of Thanksgiving on Sunday, February 16th at
2:00 pm at the Cathedral of Saint Paul (239 Selby Avenue, Saint Paul, MN). Bish-
op DeGrood will be the celebrant, all clergy and lay faithful of the Archdiocese are invited and encouraged to attend. A reception will immediately follow (location yet to be determined) and is open to the public.
Please continue to pray for Bishop-elect DeGrood as he makes his transition from parish priest to bishop.
The Church of Saint Peter will be participating in a parish-wide survey! (Please Read)
The Church of Saint Peter will be participating in a parish survey about disciple-ship conducted by the Catholic Leadership Institute as part of the Archdiocesan Synod Process! We need your help by participating in a 10-15 minute survey.
The survey can be accessed via smartphone, tablet or computer at www.disciplemakerindex.com from February 1 – March 1 and will ask you to reflect on your own spiritual growth and enable you to provide feedback on our parish’s efforts to help you grow. You can also find the link on our parish website at: stpeterfl.org/survey. All responses will be confidential, and the parish will only receive information about the community as a whole.
We are trying to get the highest response rate possible. This information will be valuable to Archbishop Hebda, me as your pastor, and our parish as we plan for the future and strive to be the best disciples we can be. We will receive the results this spring, at which time we will share with you what we have learned.
If you don’t use a smartphone, tablet or computer - there will be opportunities to complete the survey after daily and Sunday Masses. You can also obtain a paper copy by contacting the parish office at: (651) 982-2200.
Thank you for helping with this important project! God bless,
