Father’s Formed.org Suggestion of the Week MOVIES – MOVIE NIGHT St. Therese of the Child Jesus
We are making our way through 33 Days to Merciful Love with one week left. I have heard of struggles that some days the information that is brought to us proves diffi-cult. I encourage you to sit with it and reflect on the matter. The underlying theme God’s mercy is attainable. On Day 11 we learned of the three things to live the little way of depending totally on God’s merciful love: 1. Recognize the darkness of our own littleness, 2. Keeping trying to grow in holiness and do little things with great love, 3. Keep trusting and believing that God will satisfy your desires for holiness. Use these same three things to persevere through the rest of these 33 days. First, recognize the darkness of your own limitedness. There may be days that you might need to re-read. God is working in your lack of full understanding. Second, keep trying each day to open your mind and your heart to what God wants to teach you. Even if all you get from the day is one little idea. That is the seed that God can use to produce much fruit in your life. And third, keep trusting that God recognizes the desire in your heart and will come into the darkness of your lack of understanding to grant you grace upon grace. It is not about understanding everything. It is about de-sire and perseverance. This is what it means to be the little bird to which Thérèse compared herself. She knew her lim-its were lower than those of the great saints but the trust that God would bend down to lift her up to Himself gave her the confidence to live with the eagle’s heart. We too can live in our littleness and achieve greatness with God’s grace and mercy. Just trust and keep trying.

A Prayer For Protection In Time Of Pandemic… O Mary, you always brighten our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who, at the Cross, took part in Jesus’ pain while remaining steadfast in faith. O loving Mother, you know what we need, and we are confi-dent you will provide for us as at Cana in Galilee. Intercede for us with your Son Jesus, the Divine Physician, for those who have fallen ill, for those who are vulnerable, for those who have died. Intercede also for those charged with protecting the health and safety of others and for those who are tending to the sick and seeking a cure. Help us, O Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who took upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows, so as to lead us, through the Cross, to the glory of the Resurrection. Amen. Upon thy protection we seek refuge, O Holy Mother of God. In our needs, despise not our petitions, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.

Questions for Discussion: Adult: How can you show this week that you truly believe in the resurrection? Child: To whom could you tell the story of Jesus’ rising from the dead?
Divine Mercy Sunday is next Sunday, April 19. In the joy of this Easter season, we proclaim the Risen Christ and we sing “Alleluia!” Divine Mercy liturgy with adoration will be live streamed beginning with prelude music at 2:45 p.m.
Eastertime Prayer… Risen Lord, I greet you with joy this Easter season, and I thank you for the gift of new life. Bless my family and friends and anyone who is lost or lonely or feeling far away from you. Grant that I might celebrate springtime in my heart each day as I rejoice in the Good News of your Resurrection. Alleluia! Amen.

Thank you - We prayed, fasted and gave alms—and now we celebrate Easter joy! Our Lenten journey with CRS Rice Bowl ends as we encounter our risen Lord. We reflect on our brothers and sisters whom we have walked with in India, Zambia, El Sal-vador, Mexico, and Ethiopia. And we commit to bring Easter joy to each person we meet in our daily lives. Our community changed lives this Lent, and CRS Rice Bowl wants to say thank you !

FIRST READING - Acts 2:42-47 They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the com-munal life, to the breaking of bread and to the prayers. Awe came upon everyone, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their property and possessions and divide them among all according to each one’s need. Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple area and to breaking bread in their homes. They ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.
SECOND READING - 1 Peter 1:3-9 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in his great mercy gave us a new birth to a living hope through the resurrec-tion of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you who by the power of God are safeguarded through faith, to a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the final time. In this you rejoice, although now for a little while you may have to suffer through various trials, so that the genuine-ness of your faith, more precious than gold that is perishable even though tested by fire, may prove to be for praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Although you have not seen him you love him; even though you do not see him now yet believe in him, you rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, as you attain the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
GOSPEL - John 20:29
On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are re-tained.” Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nail marks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” Now a week later his disciples were again in-side and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe.” Thomas answered and said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.” Now, Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples that are not written in this book. But these are written that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that through this belief you may have life in his name.
