Christmas for Jail Ministry Sock and notebook collection
St. Pius X Women’s Jail Ministry will be collecting packages of women’s white crew socks and black bound composition notebooks from November 1 to November 9. Please no anklets or short sports socks. No logos or designs.
The donated items will be given to the female residents of Rockdale County Jail at their annual Christmas gathering later in the year. All items can be dropped off in the Admin Hall in a large box
labeled St. Pius Women’s Jail Ministry.
All Souls Day Novena Beginning Sunday, Nov 2nd
Envelopes are available in the Gathering Area to list your deceased loved ones for the November All Souls Novena which begins on November 2. The completed envelope may be dropped in the offertory basket or turned in to the parish office before November 2. Be sure to put your name on the envelope for record keeping purposes. These envelopes will be placed on the altar during the Novena Masses.
Extraordinary Minister Training
The next English-only training class has been scheduled for new and re-certifying ministers on Thursday, November 6 at 6:00 p.m. We will begin in the Admin Hall. For more information call Lee Depkin at 770-922-1298.
All Saints Day Not a Holy Day of obligation this year. However, a mass will be celebrated Saturday 8:30 a.m.
All Saints Day falls on Saturday, November 1, 2014. While All Saints Day is normally a holy day of obligation, when it falls on a Saturday or a Monday, that obligation is abrogated in the United States and some other countries. Therefore, Catholics in such countries do not have to attend Mass on All Saints Day in 2014. Catholics in other countries may still be required to attend Mass.

National Vocation Awareness Week November 2-8, 2014 An annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promote vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations. NVAW began in 1976 when the U. S. bishops designated the 28th Sunday of the year for NVAW. In 1997, this celebration was moved to coincide with the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. Beginning in 2014, National Vocation Awareness Week has been moved from the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord to the first full week of November, which in 2014 is November 2nd-9th.

Oct. 29- Prayer Squared The goal of this night is for the middle school youth to be equipped with different tools and guides that can aid in their growing prayer life. The approach of this night is to build off what has already been learned, the youth know what prayer is, where to pray, how to start prayer, what to pray about, and now they will
be given specific prayers and things to do that can help them when they are actually praying to further their relationship with Christ.

Sacraments/Services New Members: Parish Registration forms are available in the Gathering Area. Please fill out & return to the Office. Newcomers to the parish are welcomed quarterly by parish leaders at a reception after the 8:30 a.m. Sunday Mass.
Baptism: Baptism Request Forms are located in the Gathering Area and must be turned in before taking the pre-baptism class. Baptisms are scheduled after completing pre-baptism catechesis.
Weddings: Contact a priest or deacon six months before the wedding to begin preparation. Parish membership is required. Diocesan guidelines apply.
Penance: Scheduled time is Saturday, 3:45-4:45 p.m. Seasonal Penance Services are held during Advent and Lent. Other special times are arranged by calling one of the priests.
Anointing of the sick: A priest is on call at any hour for “EMERGENCY” sick calls. To contact a priest in an emergency, follow the directions on our phone system.
Hospital/Homebound/Nursing Homes: Pastoral staff members visit Rockdale Hospital daily. EucharisticMinisters bring communion to the homebound. Family members should call the Parish Office to inform us about those who are ill.

Semana de Concientización Nacional de Vocaciones Del 2 al 9 de noviembre, 2014
Semana Nacional de las Vocaciones (SNV) es una celebración de una semana anual de la Iglesia Católica en los Estados Unidos dedicada a la promoción de las vocaciones al sacerdocio, al diaconado ya la vida consagrada a través de la oración y la educación, y para renovar nuestras oraciones y apoyo para los que están teniendo en cuenta una de estas vocaciones particulares. SNV inició en 1976 cuando los obispos de Esta-dos Unidos designó el día 28 domingo del año por la SNV. En 1997, la celebración se cambió para que coincidiera con la fiesta del Bautismo del Señor, que se celebra el 13 de enero en 2013 a partir de 2014, la SNV se trasladó a la primera semana de noviembre.

El Ministerio estará colectando paquetes de calcetines (sin diseño, no deportivos, al tobillo ói cortos) blancos de mu-jer y cuaderno de notas negro del 1 al 9 de noviembre. Por favor no traiga calcetines deportivos cortos o al tobillo, sin logotipos o diseños.

Día de Todos los Santos Misa sábado 1 de noviembre a las 8:30a.m.
Este año el día 1 de noviembre día de Todos los Santos cae sábado. Si bien, el día Todos los Santos es un día de precepto normalmente cuando éste cae en sábado o lunes, esta obligación es derogada en Estados Unidos y en otros países. Por lo tanto, los católicos en estos países no tienen que asistir a Misa el día de Todos los Santos en el 2014. En otros países pueden exigirse a los católicos asistir a Misa.
