ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE SCHOOL NEWS

The St. Thomas the Apostle School Community

had a week of play. The 29th, 30th and 31st

of May the students tried out different stations

for field day. They were challenged to various activities

such as relays, races, tug of war, and a kickball game

just to name a few. On Wednesday, May 30th the

students cooled down with an ice cream party during

lunch as a part of reading counts.

The hard work that the drama students and their

teachers had done was seen in the production of THE

SNOW WHITE VARIETY SHOW! Thank you for sharing your

time and talent to show this funny show. It is something

the entire community looks forward to seeing every

year.

Grades 5 & 6 attended the Southwick Zoo on Friday,

June 1st. It was exciting to see the animals in their

natural habitat, especially the deer roaming as the

students walked among them. Also, on June 1st, the

preschoolers had a safety event at 9 a.m. with the West

Springfield Police and Fire Departments. They were

encouraged to meet and greet our dedicated law

enforcement and safety personnel. They even had a

chance to hop on the fire truck with the firemen and

woman's gear. Even the sirens were in full voice, much

to the delight of the students.

We invite you to call the school office at 739-4131 for

more information or to schedule a tour. Please visit us

at www.stthomasapostleschool.org or our Facebook

page to learn more about us. Thank you!

PRAYERS FOR DECEASED

Kathleen Ahern. May her soul and the souls of all the

faithful departed rest in peace.

ALTAR SERVER APPRECIATION SUNDAY - JUNE 3, 2018 - 9:30 A.M. AND 12:15 P.M. MASSES

“In the liturgy you are more than simple ‘helpers of the parish priest’. Above all, you are servers of Jesus Christ, of the

eternal High Priest. Thus, you altar servers are called in particular to be young friends of Jesus. Be determined to go

deeper and to cultivate this friendship with Him. You will discover that in Jesus you have found a true friend for life.”

Saint John Paul II, August 1, 2001

We will honor five altar servers who are graduating from high school this year. At the 9:30 a.m. Mass they are: Olivia Acevedo, Matthew Bruno, John Peloquin

At the 12:15 p.m. Mass they are: Chloe Pastore, Jenna Scibelli

We thank them for their many years of service and we wish them good luck and many blessings as they begin a new

journey in their life. Please come and join us to say thank you to them and their family.
