MEN’S BASEBALL FOOTBALL Men’s baseball was the 2016 CCAC Tournament Champions — a first in the baseball program’s history! More than one-third of all SXU student athletes had a 3.25 cumulative GPA for the 2016-2017 academic year. Women’s softball finished second at the 2016 NAIA Softball World Series. Women’s basketball was runner-up in the 2016-2017 NAIA Division II Championship. In 2016 and 2017, SXU was ranked in the top 10 for “Best Value Regional Universities in the Midwest” by U.S. News & World Report. The Graham School of Management ranked in the top 10 for “The Best for Diversity” by Crain’s Chicago Business in May 2016.

In July 2017, three SXU alumni were named Fulbright Scholars.

SXU’s Communication Sciences and Disorders students won the 2016 annual Illinois Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s (ISHA) College Bowl — defeating three-time winner, Northwestern University!

In July 2017, for the sixth time since 1986, an SXU alum, Thomas Freesmeier ‘08, won the prestigious Golden Apple Award for teaching.

COLLEGE OF ARTSAND SCIENCES

SXU ranks No. 1 for “Best Online Graduate Nursing Programs” for 2018 by U.S. News & World Report; and for the past five years, SXU has ranked in the top 3, surpassing the likes of Johns Hopkins University, Duke University and Rush University.

SXU’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences has received the Center for Excellence in Nursing Education three consecutive years running. SXU is one of only nine schools in the country to achieve this prestigious designation in consecutive years from the National League for Nursing.
