Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom

Apolytikion for St. Raphael in the Fourth Tone

Because of the finding of your holy relics, wise

one, * the Island of Lesvos has been filled fully

with the grace, * which God richly gave to you. *

You, O devout martyr Raphael, paradoxically *

appeared to many people, and you grant cures

and healings. * And therefore we the faithful re-

    joice in all your miracles.

Apolytikion for St. Raphael in the First Tone

To the offspring of Ithaca, the pride and joy of

Lesvos, * monastic martyrs’ glory, let us offer to

Raphael our songs of praise; * for lately he

appeared, and pours out cures and healings to us

all. * Inexplicably he appears to believers, both in

dreams and awake, who cry: * Glory to Christ

who gave you His might. * Glory to Him who gave

you miracles. * Glory to Him who through you

    fulfills our prayerful requests.

Apolytikion in honor of Sts. Raphael, Nicholas &

    Irene

Having contended on Lesvos for the sake of

Christ God, you have sanctified the island since

the discovery of your sacred relics, O blessed

ones; wherefore we honor you, O Godbearing

Raphael, together with Nicholas and virgin Irene,

as our divine protectors and intercessors with the

    Lord.

Resurrectional Apolytikion in the Plagal of the First Tone

Let us worship the Word who is unoriginate * with the Father

and the Spirit, and from a Virgin was born * for our salvation,

O believers, and let us sing His praise. * For in His goodness

He was pleased * to ascend the Cross in the flesh, and to

undergo death, * and to raise up those who had died, * by His

    glorious Resurrection.

Apolytikion for the Forefeast in the Second Tone

The life-giving Cross of Your goodness, which we the

unworthy have from You as a gift, we present to You, O

Lord, as an intercessor. Save our leaders and our nation and

keep them in peace, through the Theotokos, O only One who

    loves humanity.

Apolytikion for the Consecration in the Fourth Tone

You have made the earthly beauty of the holy tabernacle of

Your glory to be like the majesty of the firmament on high, O

Lord. Make it strong forever and ever, and accept our

supplications that we unceasingly bring to You there, at the

intercession of the Theotokos. For You are the life and

    resurrection of all.

Seasonal Kontakion in the Fourth Tone

Lord, Your Church appears to us * to be like heaven * full of

light, and guides with light * all who believe in You, O

Christ. * And we who stand in it cry to You: * Savior,

    establish forever this holy house.

    Sunday after the Holy Cross

On this day we also commemorate:

Eustathius the Great Martyr, his wife and two children,

Our Righteous Father Eustathius, Archbishop of

Thessolonica, & Hilarion the New Martyr of Crete

    EPISTLE READING

    Prokeimenon. Mode Plagal 2.

    Psalm 27.9,1

O Lord, save your people and bless your inheritance.

Verse: To you, O Lord, I have cried, O my God.

The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to the Galatians 2:16-20

Brethren, knowing that a man is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus

Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ, and not

by works of the law, because by works of the law shall no one be justified. But if, in our

endeavor to be justified in Christ, we ourselves were found to be sinners, is Christ then an agent

of sin? Certainly not! But if I build up again those things which I tore down, then I prove myself

a transgressor. For I through the law died to the law, that I might live to God. I have been

crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life I now

live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

    THE GOSPEL READING

The Gospel According to Mark 8:34-38; 9:1

The Lord said: "If anyone wishes to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross

and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life for my

sake and the gospel's will save it. For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world and

forfeit his life? For what can a man give in return for his life? For whoever is ashamed of me

and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of man also be

ashamed, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." And he said to them,

"Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the

kingdom of God come with power."

    PRAYERS BEFORE HOLY COMMUNION

I believe and confess, Lord, that You are truly the Christ, the Son of the living God, Who came

into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the first. I also believe that this is truly Your pure

Body and that this is truly Your precious Blood. Therefore, I pray to You, have mercy upon me,

and forgive my transgressions, voluntary and involuntary, in word and deed, in knowledge or in

ignorance. And make me worthy, without condemnation, to partake of Your pure Mysteries for

the remission of sins and for eternal life. Amen.

How shall I, who am unworthy, enter into the splendor of Your saints? If I should dare to enter

into the bridal chamber, my vesture will condemn me, since it is not a wedding garment; and

being bound up, I shall be cast out by the angels. Cleanse, O Lord, the filth of my soul, and save

me, as You are the one Who loves mankind. In Your love, Lord, cleanse my soul, and save me.

Master Who loves mankind, Lord Jesus Christ, my God, let not these Holy Gifts be to my

judgment because I am unworthy, but rather for the purification and sanctification of both soul

and body and the pledge of the life and Kingdom to come. It is good for me to cleave unto God

and to place in Him the hope of my salvation.

O Son of God, receive me today as a partaker of Your mystical supper. For I will not speak of

the mystery to Your enemies, nor will I give You a kiss, as did Judas. But like the thief, I

confess to You: Remember me, Lord, in Your Kingdom.

    2020-2021 Health and Safety Plan

    COVID-19 Protocols

The church will follow all HIPAA requirements and respond to Federal (CDC), State (Georgia Department of Health), and local recommendations. Sts RNI will be proactive and our community

needs to be prepared to adjust as required for each circumstance.

Sts RNI has the ability to physically distance students and teachers, provide masks for those students once they are outside the classroom, conduct increased cleaning and disinfection, as well as monitor the

temperature of the students. Sanitizing dispensers are located in each classroom and each teacher and

child is required to clean their hands as they enter the classroom and upon leaving the classroom.

Sts RNI is prepared to send the class lessons virtually to each parent who requests virtual learning on any week. Sts RNI is prepared to send all students the lessons should the conditions within the church,

county or state call for the closure of the church building.

All teachers and staff will be instructed on the best hygiene and health practices.

Anytime a student or staff member travels within the buildings in the halls, restrooms, or sanctuary, a face mask must be worn. The church has masks on hand if the person/persons do not have one.

Approved leaders only enter classrooms (no parents or anyone not responsible for that class)

Students and teachers should not come to church if they feel sick, test positive or have been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19

    Cleaning and Disinfection

Extra cleaning and disinfection practices will take place throughout the church buildings. Every classroom will have a supply of gloves, wipes, sanitizing spray and paper towels to use to clean

desks and tables once the class is over.

Surfaces and objects in high traffic areas or frequently touched will be sanitized regularly using approved disinfectants.

All rugs will be removed from the classes and the carpets will be disinfected on a regular basis.

Any rooms used by a person who tests positive for COVID-19 will be closed off for 24 hours and then cleaned and disinfected.

    Food and Water

Water fountains will be turned off and not available.

No food will be allowed in classrooms until further notice.

  • 9/18/2020 Page 11

    School Materials

Supplies like pencils, glue, erasers, scissors and markers will be kept in labeled pouches and individual boxes in each classroom.

There will be certain supplies that remain within a classroom. Toys, games, manipulatives that can be sanitized will be used, but not shared between students or classrooms.

Staff will sanitize classroom materials as needed using approved disinfectants.

No personal toys, games or books will be allowed in classrooms. This includes personal iPads and personal cell phones.

When leaving the Classroom once the lesson is over

There will be 2 monitors each Sunday in the hallways to help any teacher or student. The classes will leave one class at a time. The monitors will guide the students down the hallway and into the Narthex to

    leave through the double doors.

Parents will pick up the students at the front of the building.

THERE WILL BE NO COFFEE HOURS IN THE PLC. Doors to the PLC will be locked since we will be holding classes in there on Sundays.
