“Emmanuel – Be His Hope To Others-God With Us”The 2015 BAA rebate of $18,125.42, as well as this year’s BAA rebate will be used for the purchase/installation of an outdoor electronic sign for our parish. Preliminary estimates are in the

$40,000.00 to $50,000.00 range. We have reached this year’s goal of pledges with 40% participation (see the figures below under the heading: Current Status of BAA…). We have reached this year’s goal without pledges or responses from 226 Households/Families, i.e., 60% of the parish! If we want to make the outdoor sign a reality this year, we need at least $30,000.00 more in pledges. If you are one of the 226 Households/Families who have not pledged or responded, we need your pledge/response NOW! Please prayerfully consider making a gift to the 2016 BAA starting at the level of $100.00 that could be broken into payments (see the pledge envelope for other gift levels and payment options). Hopefully, you will make a gift. However, if you choose not to make a gift, we still need a pledge envelope from you with your name & address and your filling the “TOTAL GIFT” line in with a “0” as soon as possible. The Diocese asks that we get a response from every Household/Family. We ask your cooperation with this endeavor.

OCTOBER IS RESPECT LIFE MONTH and Sunday, October 2, is Respect Life Sunday. “Moved by Mercy” is the theme of this year’s Respect Life Program. Celebrate the gift of life in all its stages.

THE WOMEN’S GROUP will meet Sunday, October 2, at 9:00 a.m., in the Library. There are several upcoming events the group is involved with and could use your help. All women of the Parish are invited!

OLIVEWOOD CARVINGS FROM THE HOLY LAND: Due to the bad situation and the interruption of the tourist trade, over 500 families of the Holy Land are in danger of having to leave their homes in search of work. The group’s mission is to bring and sell the Olive Wood Carvings to Catholic Churches in the United States. For sale after all Masses, hand-carved Olive Wood, from the Holy Land of Bethlehem, including Nativity scenes, crucifixes, rosaries, Christmas ornaments and other figures. They make beautiful Christmas gifts. Income of the sales will go to the support of the Christian Wood Carvers of Bethlehem. They will be available for sale the weekend of October 8 and 9 after all Masses. There is a wonderful article on this project in Columbia Magazine (April 2016). The link to this article is http://www.kofc.org/en/columbia/detail/hope-carved-olivewood.html

YOUTH PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS: If you are interested in volunteering for any of our youth programs your help would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Katie Jones for more information.

We received $582.00 for the last three months from the Community Rewards program! This will not affect your rewards points in any way. Thank you to all who enrolled and participate!

ATTENTION, SNOWBIRDS: If you are one of the lucky people who leave the cold Ohio winters for sunnier weather and have the post office hold your mail, please notify Janet in the office of the months you will be gone. The post office will neither hold nor forward our Sunday collection envelope mailings. The church is charged each month for each item, that is returned to us. The envelopes are mailed 45 days prior to the scheduled month, so let us know as soon as you can. Thank you!
