VOLUNTEERISM

Did you know....?At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Our Y has been listening and responding to our communities’ most critical needs for over 150 years. Whether developing skills or emotional well-being, welcoming and connecting diverse populations, or advocating for healthier communities, the Y fosters the care and respect all people need and deserve.

Our Y cares for ALL in our community. One out of every three people in our Y needs our financial help to access essential Y programs and services. It takes the support of our entire community to help our neighbors in need.

The Y For All Annual CampaignYour gift matters to the 1,600 people in our Y who need our help. Our annual campaign, Y FOR ALL, is underway. We hope you’ll consider supporting your neighbors in need with a gift.

Each year community need grows and our Y continues to work to meet those needs and be a place where all children, adults, and families are healthy, confident and connected. Your donation makes that work possible.

Planned Giving The YMCA has recently launched a new planned giving initiative. Common planned gifts include a gift made through one’s will, life insurance policy, or retirement plan. All gifts benefit our endowment, a permanent fund used to support the Y. Gifts made to the endowment today will help support future generations. All those who make a gift will be invited to join the Triangle Society, our planned giving recognition society.

HELP SEND A KID TO CAMP THIS SUMMER!

Keep your support local this year and help send a deserving child to camp. The gift of a camp scholarship or “campership” will give a deserving child the opportunity to spend a summer outdoors exploring and learning in a safe environment.

At the Salem YMCA, over 1,200 children attend camp each summer. 1 out of 3 receives some form of financial assistance. For hundreds of local children, a camp experience is only possible thanks to the generosity of local donors.

• A gift of $125 provides a partial scholarship for a camper, helping them stay active and healthy through the summer. and continue to learn through the summer months.

• A campership of $250 gives a child a full week’s campership and helps combat the “summer brain drain” often seen during the out-of-school months.

• A donation of $500 provides two full weeks of activity based learning to a deserving camper.
