Solar Panels

Solar panels are silicon enclosed in glass. When the sun hits the silicon, it creates direct current (DC) electricity.

Power Inverter

The inverter takes this energy and converts it into alternating current (AC), which is what your home uses.

Meter

Excess energy during the day goes out to the grid; then during the night, energy comes from the grid. This process is called metering.

Your Energy

Your home is now running on cleaner, cheaper, greener energy.

How Your Solar Panels WorkSince our caveman days, we humans have been burning things like wood and coal to provide the power we need to “keep the lights on”, so to speak. This whole time the ultimate power generator was hanging just above our heads - literally.

Today, solar power systems are leading us into a cleaner and more renewable future. Solar panels convert the free and abundant energy of the sun into electricity that can keep refrigerators humming, air conditioners chilling, washing machines whirring, and homes alive with power.

Here’s how:

Why Us?We Put Our Business In Your HandsElevate Solar is in search of VIP customers who serve as neighborhood advertising homes for our energy and cost saving solar technology.

By qualifying for our neighborhood advertising home program, we have one of our solar engineers custom design a solar system for your home. Then we install, finance, and service that solar system all at no cost to you. All you do is pay for the power our array produces which is anywhere from 20-30% less than you were paying for traditional power. And we give you a set rate. You know how much you pay at all times and you can plan for the future. With a fixed rate, you know how much your bill will be every year. That means no spikes in cost and no surprises. We call it our $0 down and pay as you go reward.

How you qualify:

1. An electric bill over $125.00 a month

We have found that we can provide the most savings for you when your bill is at least $125 a month.

2. A roof in good condition

Solar panels have a thirty plus year life cycle, so if you’re due for a new roof it will save you money to have the project completed before installing solar panels.

3. You own your home

“I was happy when I learned all the environmental benefits of my new solar system, but when my bills went from $180 a month down to $13, now that’s something to get excited about!” — Ross Family

The company Hanwha Q CELLS GmbH ranks among the top

PV brands in United Kingdom according to the results of a survey

carried out by EuPD Research among installers on brand awareness,

customers’ choice and distribution.

1. Why do you need my electricity usage to design a solar system for my house? We size a solar system based on how much power you use, not the size of your house. Typically we use your recent electricity bills to analyze your power consumption. That way we can be sure not to oversize the system and generate exactly the amount of power you need.

2. How long does it take to install solar power on my house? Installation time is fast. We can usually complete the process in two days. Permitting and energizing processes are longer and vary from state to state.

3. Do I need to replace my roof before I put solar power on my house? If you’ve replaced your roof in the last five years, then it’s perfect for solar. If it is older than 10 years it may need to be replaced. We recommend speaking with your contractor to see if it’s time for a new roof.

4. Can I buy solar panels and put them up myself? (DIY Solar) You can, but you will not receive the warranty on the installation (20 years). Solar PPAs have become a very popular option for homeowners who are concerned about the cost of solar. This allows you to get all the benefits of solar without having to install them yourself. Most homeowners are now using a solar PPA, in which case the installation is part of the overall, turn-key package.

5. What is thin film solar power and should I use it on my house? Thin film panels use a different technology that is less efficient than regular silicon solar panels, and requires substantially more space, in some cases twice as much.

6. Does my solar power work if the power goes out? Unless you are off-grid or have a battery storage system, your solar system will also be inoperable if the power goes out. Most installations are tied to the grid. If you are worried about this, a simple generator is a great back up solution.

7. How does the ownership of a solar power system work on a house? If you are using a PPA, which is now the most common method of converting to solar, then you do not own the system. A third party owns, monitors and maintains the system for you, almost like a small separate utility. They own and operate the infrastructure and you purchase a portion of your energy from them at a fixed and reduced monthly rate. The difference is, you are now in control of that rate. We like to think of it as “refinancing your electric bill”.

8. How much does solar power cost? Solar power is now less expensive than traditional electricity in many states. With the new financing models, most people are going solar with no upfront cash out of pocket.

9. What happens at the end of the solar PPA? At the end of the PPA you can do one of three things: a. Buy the system out b. Extend the PPA (by up to 5 years) c. Have the system removed

10. What happens if I move during the PPA? The solar PPA simply transfers to the new owner provided that they meet the qualifications. Another option is to buy out the PPA and add it to the selling price of your home.

11. Which solar panels are the best? The good news is that panels have become pretty commoditized, so the differences are marginal. So if your system produces less than stated in your PPA you will be reimbursed the difference.

12. Will solar power change my gas bill or just the electric bill? Photovoltaic panels produce electricity and will not affect your gas bill.

13. How much will solar save me if I put it on my house? When you purchase a system you can offset as much or as little of your bill as you want. However, the upfront cost may be large and the return on your investment may be 5-10 years. Solar PPAs typically save between 15-25% but have the advantage of providing immediate savings with no initial investment.

Based on measurements obtained from the site assessment our team will determine the specifications that fit your home.

4. System DesignThe results of the site assessment will allow our expert design team to customize a solar energy system specifically for your home. The design will be submitted to you for approval. At this time we will also ask you to sign utility interconnection and rebate paperwork (if available).

5. PermittingOnce you have approved the design, we submit the plans to the city and the HOA (if applicable) to grant a construction permit.

6. InstallationUpon receipt of the permit, our experienced crew will install your customized solar system on your roof.
