Karl made his debut for Salford in 2003, following spells at Widnes, Tonneins (France) and Swinton, Originally a scrum half he made a highly successful switch to full back and has since forged a fantastic career as the Reds’ last line of defence.
Having missed a major part of the 2007 campaign due to a snapped Achilles tendon he bounced back in style last season and was a key player in the treble winning team. In 2004, he represented Ireland in the European Nation’s Cup and has been a regular for them since, including the recent 2008 World Cup, in which he excelled once again, with the Irish winning fans the world over with their plucky displays.

Signed from Leigh prior to the 2006 season, the Papua New Guinea test player has proved to be a reliable player in any of the back positions and has been the clubs top goals and points scorer for the last two seasons. A vastly experienced player John had spells with Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane Easts, Penrith, St George-Illawarra, Warrington and Leigh prior to joining the Reds, but it is at The Willows that John has found his spiritual home, enjoying the best form of his life for both club and country.
Representing Papua New Guinea in the 2000 World Cup John recently captained the team in the 2008 World Cup down under, playing in all three matches against England, New Zealand and Australia, and his calm influence will be vitally important if the Reds are to be successful in Super League this year.

Signed on a two year deal from North Queensland Cowboys, Mark was a top performer in the NRL and should prove to be a tremendous acquisition for the Reds, with the ability to play at centre, wing and fullback.
Making his debut for the North Queensland Cowboys in 2006 Mark was one of the most consistent performers according to their manager of football, Dean Lance, and Reds coach Shaun McRae moved quickly on news of his potential availability to secure his signature. Salford’s wiley head coach knows only too well how injuries can cripple a team’s season, and Henry’s ability to cover a number of positions to a very high standard will be a very nice card to be able to play if the big hits start to take a toll on the Reds back line.

Jeremy joins the Reds on a two year deal from South Sydney Rabbitohs, and was well known to Reds head coach Shaun McRae from his time with the club in the NRL.
Originally playing at junior level with Berala Bears, he went on to play in the NRL for Cronulla Sharks and Parramatta Eels prior to signing for South Sydney in 2007.
A member of the New Zealand touring side in 2007 Jeremy was scrum half in the 3rd test V GB at the JJB stadium in Wigan, later playing against France in Paris. Known to be a fan-tastic organiser and quick thinker with the ball in hand, Smith and Richard Myler should form the most exciting half back partnership seen at The Willows for a long time - if they click then this duo could be spectacular in attack.

A big pre-season signing for the Reds, Ray joined Salford on a three year deal from North Queensland Cowboys. In 2008 he played for the City side in the Country Origin against City Origin fixture at Wollongong, a match that ended 22-22.
Rated as one of the best props in the NRL, Ray looks sure to make his presence felt in Super league XIV, and seeing as he is an absolute giant that presence will be hard to handle, even for Super League defences.
