The Old City was surrounded by big walls. The wall protected the people who were in the Old City. They started working on the Old City in 1537 and did not finished till 1541. The Old City today has narrow streets and has lots of shops.

The New City is right outside the Old City walls. The New City is not as quiet as the Old City. The New City is huge compared to the Old City.

The Jerusalem Forest is not far from Mt. Herzl. The forest is also a memorial to President Kennedy because a tree was chopped down which had 51 rings.

Yad Vashem is the Holocaust Memorial. Yad Vashem was established in 1953. it was made to honor all the 6,000,000 Jews who had died during the holocaust

The Jewish Quarter today is a sparkling clean place. The only thing that is weird is that the synagogue is lower than street level because back then we were not allowed to build anything higher then the Muslim structures.

The Armenian Quarter is where most of the Armenians stay. The Armenian Quarter is the smallest of all the corners. When you go in the Armenian Quarter you will see shops.

The Dome of the Rock is where Abraham bound his son Isaac to be sacrificed. Under the rock is the well of souls.

The Biblical Zoo has all the animals from Biblical times. On February 28, 1993 the Zoo opened. The Biblical Zoo is kosher and the animals can not eat meat.

The Israel Museum holds the two Dead Sea Scrolls. The Museum is a good place to study judaica. The Israel Museum has one of the oldest things found in Israel.

Mt. Herzl was dedicated to Theodore Herzl and many other Israeli leaders. In another part is the Military Memorial.

When Rome destroyed the 2nd Temple there was only one wall left. You can take pictures of the Wall except on Friday. The wall is opened 24 hours a day so at anytime you can pray, stick a note, or cry there.
